It’s my birthday.
This past year I started conquering life as a messy person™️
Being raised without autonomy makes taking care of yourself extremely difficult. If you don’t know yourself, you can’t take care of yourself.
Your needs are warped and merge with those around you - what they call codependency.
Your motives are not your own, but the smoke and mirrors of your distorted perception are convincing.
So we internalize, accepting the shame of being someone we really don’t want to be.
A person created against our will, by those who are supposed to love us the deepest.
So I let it all go this year. I started working to override that archaic pattern of mess and shame.
I wish I could tell you that I’m now a clean person™️, but I am not.
That’s not the goal though.
The goal is to find the motivations that ARE mine. To dig deeper into the person I have been working so hard to know the last 5 years. To follow their heart, without judgment.
It’s a mess, and that’s okay. Every day I am closer.
