I didn’t actually believe in that moment in myself or that I would actually bring it home, so I never bought a dress or wrote the speech but the moment came and here are my feelings.
To my grandma Maty. Gracias por ensenarme a ser fuerte desde muy pequena. Thank you for teaching me how to keep a good head on my shoulders and to NEVER GIVE UP. I will carry your resilience with me till we see each other again. I love you and I will miss you forever.
To my team, I wouldn’t want to do this relay with any other team. It’s my honor to grow together and watch this all unfold in front of our eyes with or without tears. We have had a beautiful year together, one that we will never forget.
Mi papa, gracias por ensenarme que todo lo que puedo desear es possible. Without you, I would’ve never known that it was a possibility to be a chef!
To Nando and Lauren, thank you for loving me, supporting me and allowing me to be myself. Thank you for always catching me when I fall and creating the space to always feel supported, no matter how crazy my ideas can be and how many mistakes I’ve made. You guys get me and love me while knowing exactly who I truly am.
To my mother, thank you for being you. I love you. You have taught me the challenges of being a woman but the reward of being a strong woman. I wouldn’t want you to be any other way.
To my friends, THANK YOU. I spent many nights with some of you crying my eyes out when I felt defeated but thanks to the love, I learn to trust that all would be okay.
To my JBFA family for always believing in me, investing in my growth and giving me opportunities.
To my babies Sashimi + Mero, for all those really long days filled with belly rubs and kisses. You guys make my tiny home a very loving home.
To my Miami community for believing in us, for showing up at the dinners, pop ups, restaurants. This has been years in the making and I couldn’t be more proud to be the lucky chosen one to represent our city this time around. Like some of you guys have said but I’ll rephrase, the drought had been over.
@stayhungree you inspire me to be the best chef I can be while also inspiring me to be on a skims (chefs) commercial.
Everything you do is delicious, thoughtful, beautiful, creative, fun and authentically you.
I feel so lucky to consider you a friend, I feel luckier to know I will never again be alone in my music taste.

man, I am just so lucky.
