The Richardsons feel that they finally found the best hospital for their family with Cincinnati Children’s -- despite being 150 miles away from their home in northern Indiana. Once they learned about the expansion of our telehealth offerings, appointments became much easier. The form of telehealth the Richardsons use allows patients to visit a local clinic to measure vitals and use additional equipment for the physical exam, and from there, connect with a specialist who is located much further away. They were one of the first families to benefit from the telehealth-enabled clinic at our new Fort Wayne location within @parkviewhealth . Emmabelle and Josie Richardson meet with multiple Cincinnati Children’s specialists. By using telehealth, long distance travel that can be difficult and uncomfortable has been significantly reduced and lowers stress and anxiety. After three years of planning, design and construction, our new Kaleidoscope Café is now open on our main campus! Located on the Location B concourse, this new café is open 24/7, has nine specialty food and drink stations, ordering kiosks, self-checkouts and will use compostable materials to reduce our carbon footprint.
Alex has been a lifelong cardiac patient at Cincinnati Children's. Diagnosed with a heart defect at birth, he has had three heart surgeries with us, and during his hospital stays, his sister would bring a stuffed animal and a book to read while visiting. Today, Alex is 15 years old, and wanted to give back to others undergoing cardiac surgeries by providing them with "a friend and a story." As part of his Eagle Scout project, he collected 107 stuffed toys and coordinating books, exceeding his initial goal of 100! Thank you, Alex!

✈️ Thousands or spectators enjoyed the 50th anniversary of the Dayton Air Show, and we were happy to be there to hand out ear plugs to kids like Joslyn, who is an 8-year-old Cincinnati Children's patient.
Joslyn's mom Lauren says, "Joslyn is thriving thanks to the incredible work of Cincinnati Children’s. This past year she had her 50th surgery and in the coming year will have her 51st. She is an amazing girl with the most amazing team behind her. They have not just saved her life over and over again but given her a quality of life that is not possible anywhere else. We are so grateful”.
