August 11th is our dad’s birthday, and the launch of a new series “The Happiest Hour” in partnership with Nō Studios.
With this series we’ll learn more about people in our community through music. DJs learn so much about folks in the room - from what makes them move, their requests, walk-on songs, anthems and even songs they hate lol.
Music can be a portal to the soul. It’s a keeper and driver of culture, and it holds truths about us that we’re constantly working to clarify. Music allows us to understand our connectedness and softens the barriers to collective progress.
The Happiest Hour is an innovate approach to connection. A synergy that will ignite thoughts and insights that only come from a good jam session.
My first guest has to be Nacarci Feaster- my dad.
Now, he’s tryna act shy about this, but if y’all come and gas him up he’ll spill the beans. He’s spent his whole life and career in service - as a leader, activist, business man, mentor and father-figure to hundreds of young people over the course of his life. I hope we can play the music that brings him joy, sparks memories, and gets the stories flowing!
Jazz, funk, classics, soul.
