The grill is on, the sun is out and we’re serving a secret picnic salad. Corkscrew noodles, Calabrian chili, Romano beans, aggressive parsley & bread crumbs. Oh, and it’s low key vegan sshhhhhhh “ask about the secret menu”
This is a vegetarian sandwich and it is called The Yuba River. You can have at @verdugobar tomorrow from 3-8pm. Layers of slathered, smoked & griddled tofu on a potato bun with sweet onions, black trumpet mushrooms and spicy slaw. This sandwich appeared to its creator, Chuck De Lindt, in a dream immediately following a near fatal tube-rafting incident near French Corral, CA in the summer of 1959. True to De Lindt’s original vision, this sandwich is served wet & wild. Hold on with both hands

☝️this is what’s getting me through 3 days of searing winds, 100 degree heat and the murderous desire for a plate of vegetables (or just like 1 vegetable, ANY VEGETABLE). AND do you guys crave burritos while on vacation? because lordy I sure do, every time, the whole time. (Also, take these complaints with a grain of salt bc I just did a victory dance around an empty plate that once held 7 different cuts of grilled pork and then I said something about “this pleasurable pain”)
