Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the organizers for putting together this awesome week of workshops, music making, and social gatherings!
Sounds kinda crazy to me but next month I’ll have been composing for two years. This being my first institute wearing the hat of composer is incredibly special to me, as I’ve only ever participated in these sorts of musical gatherings as a harpist.
@the.marimbae taught me so much throughout this process. THANK YOU for schlepping a vibraphone all the way from Long Island to middle of nowhere, NJ not once, but TWICE so that we could make magic happen together. Super grateful for everything you’ve shared with me and thank you for giving such a killer premier of our piece. Looking forward to all the music we’ll make in the future :)
I’ll miss all of you so much. Please, if you’re ever in the NJ/NYC/Philly area let me know so we can hang out :-)

It was such a fabulous experience joining this crew of incredible musicians for a week in Boscawen. At the beginning, all but Hope were strangers to me. By the end, it felt like we had our own little quirky musical family.
Thanks @hopelittwin for bringing us all together and facilitating the collective composition & improvisation processes. Thank you @avalochfarmmusicinstitute for providing the food, space, facilities and care so that we could focus all of our energy on building connections and creating music.
Also, shoutout to Evan Lurie (composer of Backyardigans and student of Julius Eastman). It was so cool meeting you and listening to all your stories!

I had a great time collaborating with @raudramusic on this liquid drum & bass track. Who knew harp + d&b could sound so cool?
Arnab approached me about this project a while back - he had an idea to create an album based on the nine rasas (aesthetics). This is a concept in Indian arts denoting the aesthetic flavor of any visual, literary, or musical work that evokes an emotion or feeling in the eye of the beholder, but cannot be fully described.
The nine basic rasas are: hasya (joy), bhayanaka (fear), raudra (rage), shringara (love), vira (courage), karuna (sadness), adbhuta (amazement), vibhatsya (disgust), and shanti (calmness).
Make sure to follow @raudramusic to follow along on his journey as he releases a track for each of these rasas.
