LET’S GIVE IT UP for our incredible team who’s been absolutely killing it! It’s been a wildly busy and exciting week @haihaimpls since we were awarded by @beardfoundation ! We have been serving record amounts of guests & making ridiculous amounts of food, and I’m grateful that everyone is staying positive, energized & proud of our collective accomplishments! It’s been lovely to welcome new faces and show first-time guests what we’re all about & of course welcome back our regulars! We wouldn’t be where we are today without our sister restaurant @holaarepa that started as a food truck, where owners @christinanguyenmpls and @birksg cut their teeth in the food world. This year Hola is celebrating 10 YEARS of having their restaurant on Nicollet & 35th in South Mpls! WOWWOWWOWWOW!!! The last couple days have been a real whirlwind but in case you didn’t hear the good news, our Chef @christinanguyenmpls and her amazing @haihaimpls team took home a @beardfoundation award🏅 for Best Chef Midwest!! 🥂🍾 To summarize the acceptance speech: Thank you to our Hai Hai teams, past and present, whose dedication to excellence and consistency is an inspiration. Without them, none of this would be possible! There are too many people to name, but you know who you are and you’ve been an integral part of our success. Thank you to @birksg , best partner in life & business - he knows how to fix everything that breaks in restaurants all the time. Thank you to my parents who have always had my back. They are refugees from Vietnam and had to pick up and move, and start their lives over without any warning. They’ve taught me that anything is possible and not to be afraid to start over. Thank you to the @beardfoundation for recognizing the value of immigrant food. When we started our restaurant journey 10 years ago, restaurants like ours could only hope to win cheap eats awards and things have come a long way. And of course, there was a lot of crying and no walk in cooler to duck into at all! 😭 A shoutout to my fellow nominees who are all extremely talented and inspiring chefs! It was so special to get to rep Mpls with the amazing chef friends @chefannahmed & @gustavo_romero_veytia & Kate from @nixtampls ! A very big thank you to everyone in our community who has supported us and given us the chance to serve them. Thank you to the Mpls restaurant community who has always lifted us up. This is a special place with an incredible, diverse and rich restaurant scene that we’re so proud to be a part of! We hope to see you all again soon!
