It’s a puzzle I didn’t quite solve, but I still love this dress!
The brand new fibermood issue has released and I instantly fell in love with the Alberthe cross front dress and top. It’s perfect for warm summer days and no wind will blow this wrap style dress open with its clever construction.
The steps on the facing had me scratching my head a few times. I still don’t believe that I attached the facing correctly, but with a little handstitching, I made it work. I found this pattern to run big. I made a size small and took about 2 inches in on each side as well as shortened the straps by 1 inch. I did use the invisible zip under the left-hand side that I saw many sewists say they did not need, however I feel it would be fairly difficult to take on and off without the zipper 🤷🏼♀️ so maybe mine is a little more fitted at the bust for my preference.
I absolutely love the finished dress. I shortened mine by 6 inches to make a midi-length and I can’t wait to wear this all summer long. There’s a link party at the website with all the latest looks. Check it out @fibremood#linkpartyed29#fibremoodalberthe#sewista#sewing#imakemyownclothes

Fibremood just released their latest patterns and I tested out the #fibremooddallas -
This caftan features an elasticated waist in back, two length options, and a keyhole back bodice ( which I unintentionally left out while cutting- so mine features a simple round neckline 😉)
Chiffon makes for a really beautiful caftan but is a bit of a pain to work with- this pattern, while only a few pieces, is not quite as beginner friendly as the pattern ranks it (in my opinion) or maybe taking a 6 month sewing hiatus is still being worked out in my projects🤣🤣
Either way, I can’t resist a fun caftan and the feeling of elegance you get when wear it…and this one didn’t disappoint. Check out the latest patterns now available @fibremood#linkpartyed28
This months @patternsforpirates fabric was so beautiful, I squeezed out two looks. I made my daughter the boundless dress and used the free pencil skirt for myself. Still more fabric available on their site….AND they are having a big pattern sale- 30% off - head over and check out everything available

How cute is this new Danika open back top? My daughter loves this one sewn up in a super soft sweater knit.
There are so many great options to check out over @madeformermaids - the listing shows how it can be dressed up or down and features so many beautiful tester versions for you to browse.
On sale during release week ❤️❤️ #m4mdanika#madeformermaidspatterns#sewist#madeformermaids#newpatternrelease
New @fibremood patterns are out and this issue has some great basics.
I made the Hylda Turtleneck but decided to go sleeveless for layering under blazers and coats without the bulk or heat. I simply finished the sleeve openings with 5/8 inch elastic.
The whole thing took less than 30 minutes to sew and is so cozy in this soft sweater knit from @joann_stores
I see many more in my future with sleeves- as I love a cozy turtleneck, but I am happy to have this layering piece to add to my wardrobe.

Made this coat almost 4 years ago and still love it. Finally had an opportunity to wear it to the ballet this weekend.
The heavy duty home decor fabric from Hobby Lobby blocked the wind perfectly and I was approached by a lady in the crowd who adores all things leopard- so fun to find someone who loves your wild coat as much as you do ❤️❤️
