Belated Father's Day post. I wasn't able to post yesterday. This is a photo from many moons ago. It is my father with me and my brother Jesse.
It's always odd to see your parents when they were that young, even though I do remember him and this period of time. This was taken at my grandmother's. I can still tell from the decor of the kitchen. From our ages, I believe we were visiting her during the holidays when I was living in Atlanta at that point. Throwback photo. This is the only photo that I have uncovered, as of yet, with my maternal grandfather. The photo is me with him and my brother Jesse. Out of my two grandfather's, he's the one I saw more of. (My parental grandfather I only remember seeing him twice in my life before he died)
It has been nearly twenty years since my maternal grandfather pictured has passed. His name was Bill but we called him Pa-Paw. He was a Korean War vet. His voice and mannerisms always reminded me of George C. Scott. He was a character for sure.
I'm not positive where this photo was taken. Photo was probably taken by my mother. I don't remember the building or bench. Considering my age I'm pretty sure this is somewhere in Indiana.

Throwback picture. Vevay, Indiana. Years ago. Me and my brother Jesse visiting my great grandparents. My grandmother is on the far right. I'm seated between my great grandfather and great grandmother. They both passed many years ago. My mother's mother's side of the family are hardcore Hoosiers. The lineage goes back in Indiana before it was even a state. We'd refer to my great grandparents as "Grandpa and Grandma Higgins" Higgins was my grandmother's maiden name.
I've only been in Vevay and Madison as a kid visiting them. The last time I was there was for my great grandmother's funeral in 2005. At some point I'd like to go back for photos of the area.
