:: From @resavoir :: back in october 2019 we headed to london for 3 days to play the boiler room festival. first day we rehearsed, second was the gig, third we went to @totalrefreshmentcentre to spend the day in the studio. we ended up with a version of charles tolliver’s tune “plight”, which you can hear on a new @bluenoterecords@totalrefreshmentcentre compilation out today, alongside a bunch of great london based artists. feel like this is the best capture of the raw energy of the band and im really happy with how it came out, and to have it on wax under blue note is pretty awesome. much love to @lex_blondin for having us at trc, such an insane and memorable moment. love to @thepetermanheim@akenyamusic@jeremyalanc@lanebeckstrom and @sen_morimoto for taking this trip and being the absolute best, love you guys. -will. A Better Ghost is out TODAY on @northernspyrecs ! I’m really proud of this record, and truly honored to be able to make music with @dustin.laurenzi and @paulie_be
Along with the release, we’re sharing a video for “The Way We Remember”, based on a poem I wrote after I lost my dad, Jeffrey, from a short bout with cancer in 2020. Dustin and I recorded an improvisation around the poem in Dustin’s basement, and my dear friend @katieernstjazz wrote and sang a beautiful melody to fit the words. I’m truly grateful that Katie and Dustin helped me make this song for my Dad. Means the world, really. We thought it was fitting to film the video in the space we recorded the music.

The line-up includes a new trio featuring Jeremy Cunningham (The Weather Up There, Northern Spy Records), Dustin Laurenzi, and Paul Bryan foreshadowing some new music to come in 2022.
After, Josh Johnson (Freedom Exercise, Northern Spy Records) will perform in a quartet with Gregory Uhlmann, Anna Butters, and Ben Lumsdaine.
Then, to end the evening, Frankie Jax No Mad will put together a vinyl DJ set for the after party.
