Welcome to our first album. It has been a long road, but we finally got here. To be honest, covid kicked our asses— some of these songs have been written since 2019 and we even thought about releasing them as their own project. But once the writing started pouring in and everything started lining up correctly, a different picture pushed through. That is the album you have in front of you, and we truly hope you enjoy it.
Getting ready to roll this thing out made me acutely aware of the power of community. For every need we had, we had someone to fulfill it. We are a south city band by the simple virtue of our dependance on south city. St Louis is a very special thing, and it’d serve you right to remember that. Thank you Antonio, John, Anastasiya, Ben, Ben, Kelly, Reid, Chelsi and the whole DIY scene that spawned us for helping this happen.
Please join us tonight in celebration at Rootwad Park, where we’ll host a beautiful release show of tremendous proportions. It will be outside, it will feature local talent such as Miracle Whip, Sloopy McCoy and Coupon Code. It will be DJ’d gracefully by Liza. Liza will have a sub. It will be outside, communal, sweaty, sunny and Good. I will personally not leave until *everyone* has left.
As the slide says, all digital album sales will go directly towards Palestinian aid. Additionally, our cassette tapes and shirts will be available for the first time at our Rootwad Park release show. If you’d like to stain the wallet, perhaps consider our wares.

The first couple of weeks after our release of REPETITIOM VARIATIOM have been overwhelmingly beautiful, and we’d like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting us and caring about our silly songs. Long live south city.
Our release show at Rootwad Park was community bliss. We raised $809 at the “door” in a generator show which is absolutely incredible. Thank you for coming together in a way only south city DIY could and donating towards Medical Aid for Palestinians (@medicalaidpal ). If you couldn’t make it, check the slides to get a taste.
First and foremost we’d like to be transparent about the numbers: The “door” at the release show raised $809 like I said, Kids raised $136 in digital sales (reminder that all our digital music sales get donated in full to MAP), and I contributed $55 out of pocket to reach an even $1000 dollars contributed to MAP. Check the second slide for the receipt and feel free to message me for more information.
Having everyone come together in community to celebrate live music and support a good cause the way that we did shook me to my core. The vibe was absolutely immaculate, everyone seemed to have a wonderful time. We partied outside the way it should be done and I am beyond proud of everyone involved and everyone that came. It was an incredibly special night.
Thanks are due to El and Lo for putting together the show and taking care of collecting donations, to Coupon Code, Sloopy McCoy and Miracle Whip for stepping to the plate and contributing to an absolute ripper of an all locals lineup, to Liza for giving us the best musical backdrop in the shape of constant bangers on the 1’s and 2’s, to Tom for giving us wonderful sound all night long, and to Josh, Mark, Bobby and Martin for their help with gear, and to everyone in our little music scene for showing the fuck up. It was an astoundingly beautiful night, and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the release of our new album.

First weekend tour vanquished ✅
For some ungodly reason Kids had never played out of town before, but now we’re fresh off of two amazing dates in Chicago and Milwaukee. We went to the beach, we went to the Domes, we went to the Cheese Castle, and unfortunately we had to skip the Bronze Fonz (next time) (it is exactly what it sounds like).

Introducing some Kids-Watching Hot Spots
Some facts:
1. Clarko had to drop the release tomorrow at Rootwad, so Miracle Whip has stepped in and we are turning it into an all local benefit for Medical Aid for Palestine (MAP). The money at the “door” will be donated to their organization. We are very fortunate to have our release be a local benefit, and we hope you feel similarly. See you there!
2. Lo has helped us with a beautiful flyer to promote our Weekend REPETITIOM City VARIATIOM outing. We will be out of town playing shows for the next two weekends in Chicago, Milwaukee, Springfield and Indianapolis. This will be our first time out of town so make sure to let your Kids-Watching buddies know so they don’t miss out on this life-changing opportunity.

If you hate flimsy, thin shirts, you’ve come to the right place– the Kids Shirt™️ is printed on beautiful 6oz ultra cotton that is both hefty and breathable. Plus they don’t stick to your body all weird (I hate when they do that).
The shirt itself looks incredible. Reid went above and beyond on the printing process and the effort shows. The ink is crisp and clear, the black and red really pop on the shirt colors we picked, and the details are thoroughly cared for– you can even read Ani’s handwriting clearly!
I want to showcase the quality more thoroughly in a future video, but for now I will say that if you have printing needs and you like keeping your business in the community, you gotta hit up @when_i_was_a_young_warthog and @proconprinting . It really felt like he was caring and involved in every step of the process in the best way possible. He’s the best.

Introducing the REPETITIOM VARIATIOM cassette tape.
Still in awe at how beautiful these came out. The pad print on the tape is crisp, the J Card is beautifully printed, and more importantly, they sound absolutely incredible. I didn’t know cassettes could sound this good.
We will have them for sale for the first time at our release show this Thursday 06/06 at Rootwad Park, so make sure you’re there to get yours before they’re out.
Keep in mind that the first run of tapes features a slightly different version of the album that will not be online ever. It will also include a surprise not pictured on this post.
Duplicated professionally by the good people over at @duplication.ca . Featuring a pad print design on each side put together by Antonio on a book-page off white color tape. The amount of care put into every step of it comes through on every aspect, so consider adding it to your collection.

now i allow myself a bit of word salad for those who care. Kids has been from the get go the project that makes me the most excited to make music. every time we write a song, play a show or release a thing i feel like we have something special in our hands. this album is the result of years of hard work and I am immensely proud of it. I’ve listened to it a million times and I still love it. I truly can’t wait for y’all to hear it.
Kids is a project dedicated to the youth within, to the hunger to keep growing, to never settling with the way we think and always being open to new ideas. Kids is about dismantling uptight music and finding bits of humor in the mundane landscape of the run of the mill. Kids music doesn’t have to be serious to be meaningful and important.
Kids is for you. The wait is almost over.
