Written by Yours Truly of course. I began writing this song at least 11 or 12 years ago. I finished it about 2 years ago. Cut a rough live recording in studio about a year ago, and then flushed out some minor details for this final demo before we officially begin recording and production.
It’s so crazy how music evolves, it never dies. When your passion is your work, it becomes a very stressful balance sometimes. Music is your therapy and your paycheck. It’s become difficult, honoring it for how it serves my soul yet also depending on it as income. Sometimes I have to address things I don’t feel prepared to yet music is the only sure way to do it.
I only go on this rant to share that while this idea of “success” in my mind’s eye is so important to me, nothing is as important as moments like these: A room, a guitar, and the song that set you free.

So I’m knee deep in the process of working on my next projects. Pre-production, laying demos, agonizing over final track lists and all the things necessary. I’ve got some stories to tell and I wanna work with the best to tell them.

This place gives let’s spend a sunny afternoon shopping for the house and sipping rosé…until happy hour hits and you decide to spend a little more time there than you anticipated and then before you know it, you’ve spent your entire day sipping rosé with no regrets 🤣 🥂

I’ve been watching for the signs. Reflecting on all I ever was, all that I am and all I have the potential to be. Sometimes, the vision of you through the lens of those closest around you helps shift perspective. It’s easy to get lost, forget, be discouraged. Sometimes, it’s your tribe who helps you realign.
The big homie @shamssharieff sent me a photo from damn near 10 years ago in my little Brooklyn apartment. And I remember her. These days, I need her. And as much as I’ve evolved, I am still her — yet more. I’m shedding elements of me I no longer align with. And I am embracing energy that serves me.
Just like the moon, life has its phases…and just like the moon, so do I.

This is a post about wellness and skin care for all the girlies on the go 💦
I am on go all of the time — performing, studying, single momming, managing my business, traveling and so much more. I’ve reached a point in my life where I have to be very intentional about my time alone to recover and replenish.
I’ve also learned that my road to clear skin is a journey from the inside out. It’s not just about the products but about what you eat, drink, discipline and consistency. So with summer solstice & full moon energy upon us and my intense need to be in the house, here’s some of my skincare (and self care) tea:
✨ A diet of hydrating, anti-inflammatory foods. I often practice intermittent fasting, juice cleanses and other habitual clean eating practices.
✨ I drink lots of water. I love water. I wanna be water 😌
✨ I make my own tea blends with loose herbs and spices designed to promote glowing skin OR I buy them from wonderful folks I trust like @naturallyucosmetics (her skin tea is incredible!)
✨ I’m currently in love with @naturiumskin products. A few are included in this video. Turmeric soap has also become my new favorite — been using @liyalanbeautyofficial brand lately.
My skin is smooth, brighter and all around more evenly toned and I’ve got a bit of peace of mind in the midst of a busy time.
Moments, moods, and memories.
A Strawberry Full Moon approaches. I’ve been hearing from my grandmother in dreams and friends through music and signs. It feels like divine encouragement and true love supporting me through very significant changes afoot. Grounding is important. As is honing one’s spiritual vision and hearing. Empowering myself with practices and habits that nourish the whole of my being. Starving distraction, eliminating bad energy — feeding intention and encouraging positive vibes all around me. I hope we all heal our inner children and that we may find joy and peace in this world. Asé.
