Today marks five years of being open!
We don’t have anything special going to highlight the supreme tidiness of five as a number, but we’re hoping to put something on next year for six when our building projects are done.🤞🏻
Thanks to everyone for keeping our dream going. We’ve been having a good amount of gratitude-related sighs lately thinking of our kids making memories at Dandy - not as “daddy’s house” (I’m here a lot) - but as their home.

Rattan and Vinyl Couch w/ Side Table. PLUMP. Is this an attractive marketing term? They use it for hot dogs. Good structure to the cushions overall, but you’ll see that the former owner had a thick piece of cardboard underneath for added support. Can’t see it, it works, it can be our secret. Minor age here and there. About 74” long, 21” to the back, 17” to the seat, 31” tall. Table is about 20” x 20”, 17” tall. $650 for set - link in profile to claim.
SOLD. Woven Folding Chair Set (2). Are you ready, Weaver? (Name reference for special shout out from ME.) Good weave, minor age on frame. 18” wide, 17” to the seat, 18” to the back, 31” tall. $225 - link in profile to claim.
SOLD. Hairpin Tray Table Set (2). Slick little accent/side tables with a bit o patina on the frames. Surface pops out if you want to pop. About 12.25” x 16”, 24” tall. $150 - link in profile to claim.
SOLD. Mid-Century Accent Chair. What a QT. Minor aging, comfortable! About 25” wide, 19” to the back, 17” to the seat, 29” tall. $215 - link in bio to claim.
SOLD. Antique Two-Tone Mohair Sofa. This belonged to the former owners of our building and has served us well in the venue. And while I don’t like parting with meaningful pieces, Jess has helped me accept change! Studded features, carved wood. Certainly aged, though uniqueness rules that out in my opinion. Main consideration is the upholstery backing, partially faded and needing some binding at the top seam, pictured. Folks also tend to put thin, yet supportive plywood under the cushions for added structure. About 75” long, 36” deep, 23” to the back, 16” to the seat, 31” tall. $650 - link in profile to claim.

Maggie is a hospitality-based designer in Milwaukee. Currently the Creative Director of @1840brewing , she works best with 1-3 quality beverages at hand and a fun snack in the near future. Along the same lines, she’s a firm believer in using design to get people to eat and drink new stuff and think, “Yeah, wow that was pretty tasty.” When she’s not learning about visible mending or drawing animals in western ‘fits, you can find her buying a cardboard box at an estate sale that the owner probably should have thrown out 50 years ago.

Today marks one week until we move into Dandy, ready or not! It’s been just over a year since we started and five years since the plans were made. It has been everything from happy excitement to cold, unfiltered frustration – with the latter often getting the best of me.
But as much as I’d like to list how nearly every single component of the build has beaten us down or squeezed our wallet dry without warning, there’s always the underlying realization that this has been the weirdest, most lovely and unique way for our lives to change course. And just as the challenges that came with occupying a former heating company dissolved into kooky memories, so will these.
Thanks to everyone who helped us get to this point. Want to watch the kids for two months so they can finish the rest of it? 🙃
Hollywood Regency Scalloped Brass and Glass Coffee Table. By LaBarge. Handcrafted and very heavy. This isn’t floating glass, it’s actually in the brass structure. Great shape for age, too. I’d keep it for the venue but it’s too dang heavy to move around all the time! 44” long, 30” deep, 17” tall. $850 - link in profile to claim.
