Thanks for the birthday messages! 🌺Embracing this next year of forty-fun with openness and am trying to have no expectations haha. It was fun to play an outdoor experimental ambient set the other day for the @out_there_series - here are a few clips from the day. Happy to start meeting other artists in Milwaukee and grateful for this last year of life on this strange and beautiful planet. The Casio SK-5 sampling keyboard is from childhood. I used feedback loops and delays with vox, aux perc, field recordings, instrument samples and magical Bluetooth audio showcasing an iOS gestural instrument I helped to develop. I love exploring and experimenting with sound and listening to nature. I am wishing for opportunities to continue developing technology and researching sound, healing and consciousness. And for technology that is fast enough to keep up! 👾💻💨

Here are a few short clips from the live electronic improv set for @wiredexplorations at @xrayarcade . Thanks to @wavefiler for organizing and RJ Mann @golfshoemusic - who did fantastic live visual processing! I tried to have a setup that spanned the most amount of time, so I was able to achieve 50 years from the 1970’s Yamaha CS10 to the 2020’s Ableton Push 3 with lots in between - Roland SH101, Make Noise O’Coast, Korg Minilogue and pedals. I wanted to invoke the wails and cries of animals, underwater communication and sirens to wake the listener up to the message of climate crisis - while emotively moving through grief processing, ending in compassion with a little poem mantra. Everything is always changing, And never mind this heart of mine beating Forever yours through space and time Singing we are one body and mind. Thanks for listening! 📸 @keithsweaty #synthesizers #analog #analogsynths #experimentalelectronic

So excited to release today “Currents - Lorna Dune Rework” - the 5th of 8 reworks by the incredible @lornaduuune with her take on “Currents” song by myself and @djannaofficial 🔊! Talk about a power female track. It’s so rad to see these two amazing artists combine and I’m honored to be part of the process. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Lorna on several East Forest projects including string arrangements for the album Possible as well as the track “Hearts Are Won” from the Cairn album with talented @keithsweaty 🎶. She also transcribed all of the sheet music for the piano sheet music offering in the EF Shop! She’s a go to music boss of many trades. Check out her music! And ANNA and I crossed paths several years ago and share a like minded musical predilections for sublime sonics that pull one inward. Our first collaborative track “Voyager” opened a doorway to so much more including the song “Currents” from Music For The Deck of the Titanic album and “Let You In” on her recent album (plus the amazing remix of that song by @maxcoopermax - a must listen). Hopefully more to come from us weaving music and I celebrate this addition today. Thank you!!

Colors and explorations with light - going deeper than ever before! Engineering light with sound. It’s pretty magical and illuminating. Additive digital color theory, light synthesis, modulations and their direct effect, emotion and color inspired by the Maitri Space Awareness and historical psychological associations of color. It’s so fascinating and I wish we had more awareness around it today. I guess we are seeing more color therapy in LEDs available at home. I think 80% of the lightbulbs in my house are @philipshue bluetooth on a time fader. Who would have thought that light and color have a direct effect on how you feel? Or could be a gateway to deeper inner reflection and expression.

Electronic work for dance improvisation contemplating Platonic solids, elements and body as geometry with dancer Dan Schuchart @dsschuchart of @wildspacedance at @marn_arts this past weekend. Thanks to @avoidancepolicy & @lizsexedance for presenting their wonderful collaborative work and having me join in at the end! 📷🙏🥰 @wavefiler @keithsweaty

Bach Prelude XXIV in B minor is one of my favorites to contemplate. It keeps climbing, reaching, even trudging to some resolution that is never found. Here it is on a heavy-actioned Yamaha CP80. It would be nice to play Bach on a real organ or piano again. “Switched on Bach” by Wendy Carlos was very influential when I pivoted from being a pianist to an electronic musician. Perhaps there’s some exploration still to be done with Bach and electronics. It is so healing to study and his work transcends time.

This Saturday I will be improvising together with dancer, choreographer Dan Schucart @dsschuchart at MARN @marn_arts . We have been exploring Platonic solids, the Cube octahedron, and how these forms relate to the way fascia moves. Excited to see how this feels live for the first time! I’m also looking forward to hearing Timothy Russell @avoidancepolicy improvise live electronic work with movement from Liz Sexe @lizsexedance who are touring their ‘Special Guest’ Performance focusing attention on place, space and the people found there.
