Cantos celebrates the embodied voice by exploring subtle connections between music and movement. The dance embraces duality of play and reverence, between the current of breath that supports and pushes our bodies, and the voice’s song which soothes and animates our bodies. Next we’ll be on the move and bringing our work to new spaces! I’m so over the moon to have been blessed with the artistic collaboration and 20year friendship with these beauties! As I was watching the closing spell of this dance today - I made some more peace with the little shadow. “ if the hurt was deep, you’ll have to let it go many times” (Yung Pueblo) Closing a show is so bittersweet. I’m grateful for the ability to make art with these humans. Thank you dancers - you are magical!
