GOOSE’s six month bday is comin’ up this month 🎉 . . Whoa! Just realized that it’s been 8 whole months since we dropped the ‘Eggshells’ music video! Was such a wild ride spending almost every night for a month in Jason’s studio. Evenings after work and nearly all day on weekends I would lug up cart-fulls of crap, put on the same “90s Road Trip” playlist (and listen in the same order), and would just start crafting away. To have not had much experience in the world of physical art, I wasn’t really sure that I had given myself enough time to bring these visions to life, but road bumps be damned, just kept chipping away at it and trusted myself and enlisted the help of some friends for final touches and BOOM~ we did it. . . I’ve really fallen in love with the creative process of making these music videos. To start with a basic concept, develop landscapes in my mind, and then see what I’m made of with limited resources, materials, deadlines, and a whole bunch of uncharted artistic territory in front of me. Then there are the characters! Especially getting to introduce and lean into the casual masc swagger of @_tonynowhere_ 🤡. I also finally understand, in a clothes-make-the-man sort of way, how absolutely bitchin’ long nails can be. Like, immediate sass. . . Some lil moments from tour 🤗 Thank you to everyone who helped get this thing in order… to the other bands that played along the way, I’m super grateful and impressed. Got a few studio days in North Carolina with earth angel @alliblois and was reminded of the power of collaboration. Thanks to the road dog crew & Vaniel Craig for getting us to and fro safely. Been keepin’ a little low to the ground but super excited to perform a handful of solo shows next week. . . I still get kind of anxious before solo performances, probably because I primarily play full arrangements with the band anymore and am accustomed to the sonic fullness that begets. However, there is a richness to be found when all of that is stripped away and the songwriting, vocal tones and textures, and true intimacy remain. If ur in any of these cities and u feel like feelin’ a bit of what I feel, c’mon out ✨ . . Should be noted that the artists lined up for this lil run are super fun and compelling in their own right. Tour is just the best! So in love w my sweet friends who moonlight as bandmates.
