My little sister may not know that we’re hosting a hot dog eating contest, but I know that every one of YOU can’t wait to come down to Northside Tavern and support our brave contestants on July 4th.

Earlier this year, the Heart of Northside received a grant from the Northside Community Fund, administered by the Greater Cincinnati Foundation (@gcfdn )! This funding supports interior improvements to provide a more pleasant experience for community events. Jaden from @froggiescream is working on a mural for the vestibule and hallway, and I can’t wait to show you the finished product!

For those looking to spectate, this is an all ages event, bring the kids! For those who want to compete, we ask that you are 21+ and use the link in our bio to sign up! Morsel and nosh just makes my life better. Cutest lil place in Northside which is also just the cutest lil place. The people are always so cool and helpful and I’ve never had a bad thing here. From sandwiches to soup to melon salad, to the fridge items or the dry goods, I simply can’t get enough of morsel and nosh. If they’re not already a staple for you, that needs to change kinda immediately.
Best eaten while smoking with friend in your backyard on a perfect summer day. There’s nothin better than this!

Happy 513 Day, everyone! Each day, I feel so lucky and grateful to have put down roots in the Northside community of Cincinnati, with its friendly neighbors, amazing small businesses and truly astounding community assets. It’s a special place, and I’m so glad to be able to call it home! What do you love most about Northside?

I recently had the pleasure of hosting the Northside Business Association Annual Meeting! I make my space available for free to this group for its monthly meetings, because civic engagement is extremely important, and I want to support my community. The annual meeting included 55 business representatives, who enjoyed great food from @morselandnosh , drinks from @theloonwinebar , and great conversation before the program started.
If you’re curious about the logistics, 3 volunteers spent an hour before and an hour after on setting up and breaking down the tables, decorations, and food and drink, in the same “gymatorium” that is used by the weekly @northsidefm , Northside Record Fair and other groups. Please get in touch if you’re interested in renting this large space for your event!
Right now, my neighbors Melissa and Tim and are helping me raise funds to replace the boiler for this historic building. It’s a massive expense ($27,000), and I hope that you can help me by donating and/or spreading the word. We would also like to offer a huge thank you to Dr. Florence Rothenberg, owner of the @heartofnorthside , for generously donating the facilities to hold our meeting. The space was inviting and conducive to the large group that attended. Additionally, we would like to express our gratitude to Northsider Gwen Finegan, who planned and facilitated the meeting without charge for the NBA. We could not have conducted this meeting without the skills that Gwen professionally orchestrated.
