WOW. What a first month it’s been for our very first short film “THE TAKEN”!! We are super thankful for everything and everyone that has helped this film succeed. this whole thing has been an amazing experience, and that’s largely due to how many friends we’ve made during this whole process. We couldn’t have asked for a better cast and crew to work with as well as the family and friends on the outside supporting us. Hopefully, this is just the beginning of our film, “THE TAKEN”!
“The Taken” plays Thursday night at the Waldron Firebay as part of our international Student Showcase.
In “The Taken” when a family outing turns into a nightmare as his loved ones are abducted before his eyes, Adrian, a devoted husband and father, embarks on a relentless mission to rescue them. Fueled by desperation and determination, Adrian channels the courage of action movie heroes as he battles through a series of intense fight scenes inspired by iconic action films of the past. From gritty hand-to-hand combat to adrenaline-pumping car chases, Adrian’s unwavering resolve is put to the ultimate test. Will Adrian’s determination be enough to overcome the odds and reunite with his loved ones, or will he be forced to confront the harsh realities of his mission? “The Taken” is a pulse-pounding short film that explores the lengths a father will go to protect his family in the face of adversity.
Director Biography - Myla Tissandier

As a sophomore at Indiana University, Myla Tissandier is actively working towards becoming a Director within the esteemed Media School. Her life’s passion revolves around harnessing the power of visual media to craft compelling narratives that resonate on a profound level. Proficient in directing, cinematography, and editing, she firmly believes that effective leadership in the creative realm requires a comprehensive understanding of each facet in the production process. By immersing herself in various roles, she will not only refine her skills but also foster an environment where creativity thrives.

“I embarked on creating this film with the aim of pushing both myself and every member of our team to new heights. Despite skepticism stemming from our status as college students, we embraced the challenge with ambition and determination. Our ultimate goal was to craft an exhilarating short fueled by inspiration and action, and we couldn’t be prouder of the result we’ve achieved.”

I know I haven't really talked about this film much but I believe it's now the perfect time to say something.
To say @colin_wood18 and I didn't devote our lives to this film is an understatement.
Some may be surprised to hear that this is the first film Colin and I have ever collaborated together on (ik crazy right??) And some may also be surprised to hear that the first time this film was pitched was after last years montage in a extremely packed raisin canes (but is that really surprising lol.) When Colin first pitched this film I was like "Sure dude. We'll think about it." Well, flash forward to summer Colin comes back to me wanting to do the film again except he's dead serious. So I was like "Sure dude. Let's do this!" and little did we know in the following months that we would be so happy, stressed, rich, and poor but I am proud to say that we both would do it all again for The Taken.
The Taken has been selected for its first film festival!! (crying, screaming, throwing up) When we got the news we were so excited and thrilled to announce it to our cast and crew. This is just the first of many film festivals for The Taken and we can't wait to see how far it goes.
To the cast and crew, you all were so amazing and I am so glad to have had your creative talent and passion to help make this thing. And I am also extremely grateful to the people who helped us along the way (you know who you are 😉). This film would've never happened if we didn't have every single one of y'all and I am so proud of the way you guys pulled through.
