The Samburu people, whose population is around 160,000, originally resided in the Nile Valley region of Sudan
About 500 years ago, they migrated southwards, alongside the Maasai, traveling along the Rift Valley plains. Eventually, they established themselves in northern Kenya, settling just south of Lake Turkana
