We will be open again for a few hours during the Main Street Second Saturdays, on July 13th! We will have the doors open at 11am and run until around 3 or later. Local support from Miss Dreadful, from Akron. “Australian-based folk diviner Leah Senior silences audiences with vivid lyricism and a voice that soars with a disarmingly honest Sandy Denny-like clarity. Ship to Shore is proud to announce: We will be hosting Lia Kohl & Whitney Johnson, performing as a duo this summer. Lorain will be the first stop on their tour! Opening performances by our lady of marshes (Cleveland) & Holographic Throne (Lorain). “Lia Kohl is a cellist, composer, and multidisciplinary artist based in Chicago. She creates and performs sonic landscapes utilizing cello, synthesizers, field recordings, and live radio to explore the mundane and profound possibilities of sound.”(via Lia Kohl website) “Whitney Johnson is an artist who interprets the unknown with sound. She composes with the viola, as well as sine waves, tuning forks, electronics, organ, vocalization, reel-to-reel tape looping, cassette tape sampling, and field recording.”(via University of Chicago) Come see what the two unique talents do as a duo at Church of the Redeemer. Ship to Shore is excited to announce our Pop Up sale event for the eclipse weekend in Lorain! We will be hosting this at the future location of our shop. We are so excited to share with you a glimpse for what is in store for Downtown Lorain. Our selection of new & used LPs, CDs, Books and merch will be available, as well as some cold brew made with @birdtowncoffee . We are so excited to see you! We’re hosting one last show to send off 2023. Thank you for such a good year. We hope to have great news to share soon! Lightpost is coming to party with us between the holidays. Making a trip out to WV to play at Church of the Redeemer, joined by our friends from Akron in Funeral Proposals. Also playing are returning friends Sacred Canopy, Holographic Throne and new friends Ahn. It’s gonna be a fun, low key night. Come hang out. We ask for $10 admission to help support our efforts to bring more music and events to Lorain, and to support the artists who are traveling and putting on a show for all. However no one will ever be turned away for a lack of funds. Supported by Holographic Throne & Dr. Oatmeal: Slime Mold Inc. - Full Regalia Otay:onii is a musician, sound designer, film composer, and installation artist who will be visiting us from China before her tour with Bell Witch. Her music pulls from all directions, elements of industrial, electronic, pop, ambient & Chinese folk graced with glitches, improvisations & drones. Her performance is not one you will want to miss. See ya there! Doors ~6 Music starts at 7pm. Suggested donation is $10, please support the musicians especially those traveling to play. However no one will ever be turned away for lack of funds. 1.
