Let this be a moment to take a simple action, open up a conversation with someone, ask questions, learn, heal and work together to make a difference, no matter how small it may be. In the face of such atrocity and tragedy even raising thousands of dollars can seem futile but choosing to open our hearts to painful truth is an important first step in liberation for all. I chose to contribute my demo version of “I’m Going Home”. This recording is not available anywhere else! Nor will it be.
Many if you have seen me perform this song. We have enjoyed this song for years and I consider that an honor and a privilege.
I am proud to be part of this project along with so many amazing people willing to donate their time and talents. Community is the most important thing to keep our hope and humanity alive… and stretch’s beyond county or borderlines.

I’m honored and grateful to have a recently recorded take of my song “Moon Sang” included as part of @songs_not_bombs Vol. 2, released today on Bandcamp (download link in bio).

The song I chose is one I wrote for my mother, who passed away when I was 7 years old. I didn’t get to see her grow old, I didn’t get to grow old beside her, and we never got to play music together, though she is the reason I was ever interested and enamored by it in the first place.
Due to the genocide in Gaza, so many children will never get to know their parents, so many parents will never get to know their children. I hope these songs and the money raised can do the slightest amount of anything to help, as our own government, the world’s super powers, and the wealthiest and most “powerful” among us disregard the utter destruction and pillage plagued upon the Palestinian people.
Thank you to Jordan Smart for organizing this record, to June Youngblood for singing with me and joining me on the upright bass, and to Joey MacMahan and Jacob Tippey for helping with the engineering and production. Again, this recording is only available on this compilation.

“Amazing Grace” is a reminder of the undeniable capacity of the human spirit. The nurturing idea of grace, love and compassion is indeed amazing in that it allows folks from all walks of life to live with the hope that empathy, humanity, dignity, and justice can revolt against pain, fear, suffering, and heartache. This song has a long and complicated history and was originally written by a former slave trader who was seeking grace and mercy from God, despite having participated in such horrific acts. Over the years, “Amazing Grace” has become a symbol of hope and healing. Whether you see it as a redemption song, a call for social justice, or a timeless expression of human longing for divine grace, my hope is that you can be still and listen to this version and let it find its way to your heart. If something must win and a song heard the loudest, let it be our collective humanity. – Chris Pierce
