Customer orders a “sex on the beach”. My coworker, having a brain fart, asks me to remind her what goes in it, so I list the ingredients, out loud, and the customer hears.
Customer*waving hands in my face*: “No, no, no; that’s not how THAT bartender made it!” *points at newest bartender, at the farthest service well*
Me: “Then why didn’t you go to THAT bartender?”
Now you’ve wasted TWO bartenders’ time, and the time of everyone in line behind you.
Last night, at bingo, I received this glorious piece of fan art from a young person called Finn. He’d sketched it, himself, during the show and gave it to me during a break. The note reads “I can do better, I swear”, and young Finn reassured me that he could do a better sketch, if I didn’t like it. I told him I loved it, and that he shouldn’t doubt himself; that no matter what he puts into the world, it will be his best, and it will be beautiful. I proudly showed off the drawing to the entire audience, and thanked him by name over the mic. Later, the adult I assume was his mother, told me that when I acknowledged him publicly, he felt seen, and started to glow. This is another reason celebrating Pride is important!

Friday is a busy one! Ill be making an appearance at Cincinnati Magazine’s Pride Block Party with QCC, then heading to Queen City Radio where P.H. Dee will be hosting a show on the eve of Pride Cincinnati with some of our city’s finest performers!
Saturday, I’ll be at the official Pride after party at Rhinegeist
