After years of development, testing, and meticulous sound design — we’re thrilled to introduce the world to BigSky MX.
We’ve taken everything the original BigSky was renowned for — stunning reverb algorithms, unparalleled flexibility, stage-ready functionality — and brought it to the next level.
We’ve been lucky enough to hear some of the incredible sounds you’ve crafted with the original BigSky over the last 10 years, and we can’t wait to hear what you make with BigSky MX.

Introducing the latest from the Strymon labs — meet Cloudburst!
Sometimes a single pedal can be transformative, allowing your tone to bloom in a way that draws music out of you effortlessly and keeps you engaged for hours on end. The simple look and feel of Cloudburst belies the power underneath the hood, because it produces some of the most gorgeous ambient reverb tones and soundscapes that you’ve ever heard out of a guitar reverb pedal. There’s literally nothing else quite like it.

There's a certain kind of beautiful hard rock guitar tone that will never sound right without a dose of reverb--more than distortion, that's what makes it sound big. In this case the tone you're hearing is just the Strymon Iridum (instead of an amp) and the Boss RV-6 as the reverb (on the room setting). If you want more pro-tips and cheat codes just like this, watch my latest YouTube video, REVERB: HOW TO BE CREATIVE, link in bio. #guitar#rock#reverb#distortion#acdc#classic
From massive, ambient reverb to vintage modulation and classic bucket brigade echoes — Cloudburst, UltraViolet, and Brig open up a world of endless sonic possibilities.

@mattpiperphotography filmed a sweet video of me demonstrating the Strymon BigskyMX with pedal steel, omnichord, and rubber bridge guitar. Link where links live
What do you get when you combine warm California weather, the musical talents of our engineering team, and the cool, crisp sounds of BigSky MX?
The result is the first of several videos featuring our very own Josh Forbes, analog engineer here at Strymon and local legend around the office when it comes to all sorts of vibey, vintage instruments.
We hope you’ll check out the link in our bio and join us in enjoying the lush sounds of Josh’s pedal steel, Omnichord, and rubber bridge guitar, all while letting yourself be transported by the sights and sounds of a Southern California summer.
Wondering where I got the inspiration for my new EP ‘Cello for the First Quarter Moon’? It was a live improvisation that I did on YouTube during Covid-19 in January 2021. I looped the first phrase and then built up the rest of the layers with BigSky and TimeLine effect pedals from @strymonengineering .
This EP is the 3rd of 8 which are based on the lunar phases. This is the one for the First Quarter Moon.

Get lost in the groove with Magneto 🎛
In this clip, Magneto is receiving the same clock signal as the rest of the patch so its echoes are in time. When the LEDs turn red, Magneto's transport controls are being used, in this case for tape reverse and some quick pauses. And of course lots of feedback from cranking up the repeats. Heads 2 and 4 are in the feedback loop (as evidenced by the green LEDs under them), and are both on the right side of the stereo image at the beginning of the video, but halfway through @mattpipermusic switches the stereo mode so that head four's longer echoes are on the left and head two's shorter echoes are on the right.
Next time: StarLab!
