The Fantastic Expedition of Dillard & Clark A&M (1968) I've hunted this one forever. This is such a great, under-the-radar album. It was released with the wave of neo-americana country rock circa 1968. Gene Clark was the effective front man of the Byrds until he left the band around 1968. He was somewhat famously afraid to fly, and was jokingly referred to as "the Byrd who wouldn't fly". He wrote the most famous Byrd songs that weren't Dylan covers (which were sung by Roger McGuinn). He died in 1991 at age 46. Highlights include: "Out on the Side", "Train Leaves Here This Mornin", "With Care from Someone" (which should have been title "Why Not Your Baby", IMHO), and "In the Plan". The MANIAC (2023) by Benjamin Labatut Highly recommended. Starts with Ehrenfest, then moves to Johnny von Neumann and the Bomb, then the computer, then AI.
