Whenever we play a show at the RRG, we feel a sense of kindness and appreciation we can’t really find anywhere else. Last night’s show was a magical one and we want to thank the Thatcher’s for creating such a wonderful atmosphere for musicians. Thanks for sharing the stage with us, @danieltoddcain . Long Road to Arnheim is now out on all streaming platforms! This song was inspired by Ely’s ancestors, Georg and Catherina Kreß, who left Bavaria for Arnheim in 1828, a wild frontier town that grew to have seven saloons. This photo shows Ely’s great great grandparents, who brewed beer, made sorghum, and were both newspaper writers. His family still lives in Arnheim today, but not a single saloon remains. A huge thank you to Mike Montgomery at @candyland_recording_studio for seamlessly mixing, mastering, and producing one of our favorite projects yet. This song wouldn’t feel nearly as special without the addition of @joes.truck.stop (fiddle), @drumnman (drums), and @xanderwellsmusic (bass). Thank you all so much for being a part of it! Last but not least, we had the pleasure of recording a live take of this song with @ironwingstudios a few weeks ago at our friend Ken Dunlap’s property.
