Reflections
Two years ago, I took a bold step and left my corporate job to follow my passion as a full-time business owner. The early days of my floral career were unforgettable, filled with the incredible support of friends, family, mentors, and industry collaborators who believed in me. No words can express my gratitude.
For those who are new here, my journey began under challenging circumstances. 2020 was a difficult year for everyone, and losing my mother plunged me into deep sadness. The aftermath of her death, which I keep private, shattered me. I initially played the victim but sought help to understand and heal from the trauma. This journey drove me deeper into my business. I became obsessed and hustled tirelessly because I couldn’t bear to sit with my feelings. I felt like a functioning, depressed person, using my business as an escape. Yet, it was this very business and my love for flowers that helped me take each step forward, turning grief into growth. Without these unfortunate events, I might have remained stagnant.
Here’s my advice to fellow aspiring business owners: Don’t let anyone judge your story or create a narrative that suits them. Starting a business is hard work and requires immense sacrifices, but if you believe in yourself, others will too. Stay true to your vision, embrace your unique journey, and know that every challenge you face will shape you into a stronger, more resilient business owner.
Believe in your dreams, persevere through the hardships, and never let anyone define your path but YOU.
