happy 26th birthday to tiny telephone!!!! it’s a miracle we survived this long and it’s only possible because of the brilliant, thoughtful, and kind engineers and producers who make this place special
i wanted to thank everyone who donated to the gofundme after our break-in earlier this year. it was a real wake-up call for how vulnerable the studio is and how easy it would be for us to fall through the cracks in an emergency. with the generous donations from hundreds of supporters, we made substantial improvements to the studio’s security (and replaced invaluable microphones and guitars).
- $15k in custom welded doors, slide locks, and security upgrades
- an incredibly complicated and insanely loud new alarm system
- a very pricey insurance policy that will actually pay out if we get got
and we replaced as much gear as we could, and what we couldn’t replace, we got killer alternatives! here’s some of it:
