Recap of my first solo tour… I was planning to do this solo/collab tour with guest music friends through the Midwest in May of 2020, and finally ended up doing it in May of 2024. Thanks to
@jmarcou for suggesting I apply to the
@mwmfest , which then lead to
@berlinmpls and then
@hideoutchicago @tra_la_la_tra_la_la_la_la @commonsagearts @marynohl_foxpoint and
@thenunnery ‘s living room. I flew in from SF from a wonderful 7 shows in CA with Setting, was picked up at MSP by my special person, borrowed my Dad’s CRV and threw Vern’s studio gear in the hatch. So many highlights, new faces, familial faces, comfortable crash pads, delicious food, playing two sets with my oldest friend in the world Trever, the first ever trio of my music with Sarah and Trev and some beautiful lights, returning to Hideout to sit in with Becker (who gave me/Megafaun our first show there maybe 15 years earlier), a lovely lake-front walk with Ravel, a late night game of “instrumental charades” at Justin’s, Marielle and Alex giving me all the Mary Nohl history my feeble mind could process, Rosenau & Co crushing as usual and psyched on everyone and everything, Spack creating an incredible environment for me and Andy to decorate with sound, Tom and I recording all morning and loading into Tim’s the same afternoon, Sarah and family persevering through a power outage to host our show on Mother’s Day, my friends being generally generous and rad and hilarious, and my parents being always supportive and curious, and Corrie getting in the mix and letting me into her’s. Pretty amazing time. I’m very lucky to have the opportunities to share my self like this. Thank you all for allowing it to happen. I love you.
