No words can express our gratitude for all the love you showered for Bungalow Opening Day. Having cooking for 40 years, I’ve never ever seen anything like this before. ❤️ We had more than 1000 people who came in pouring rain & freezing temperatures from around the U.S. From my heart I want to apologize for those who couldn’t dine with us. I’m so so sorry. We have a limited seating at the restaurant. Our reservations will open on Mar 25th (11 am). Today and tomorrow will be again first come first serve with limited seating. Love & Regards, Team Bungalow

What an Honor! I’ve known Legendary Chef Jean-Georges @chefjgv for more than 2 decades. We worked together to host gala at @rubinmuseum & he wrote blurbs for my books. And has guided me over years on the rise of Indian Cuisine. So generous & always there to support the community. ❤️🙏🏽 He was always very kind to host me & Radha at Nougatine by Jean-Georges so many times. Absolutely a pioneer to highlight South East Asian cuisine at the iconic Spice Market. I remember the day Chef took me around the restaurant & kitchen and showed me his magic. Spice Market was truly a game changer for me. And a milestone in the journey of Indian Cuisine. And today, I had the honor of hosting @chefjgv @phvjg @magnus_maguuse @nziberg at BUNGALOW. I’m so humbled & grateful when Chef said, “this is the best Indian food I’ve ever had.” ❤️❤️❤️

Since the time I booked my tickets to NYC for a work trip, I have been trying to get a reservation at @bungalowny because I am a fan of @vikaskhannagroup and I love his humility and warmth. I couldn’t get the reservation so I decided that I will try walking in and see if I can get to even sit at the bar. As I was leaving work, two of my colleagues said they would love to join. While I was glad for their company, I was also worried that it may be even more difficult to get in with three people. But as luck would have it, there was seating for three available at the bar and those bar chairs are super comfortable. We ordered a bunch of small plates and drinks. But best part was when the chef @vikaskhannagroup came to say hello - I told him how excited I am to be here and my sister is a super fan but probably sleeping in India, he immediately took my phone and asked for my sister’s name @theauravini and recorded a message for her. He is the warmest person and I can confirm the legends are true. The food, drinks, ambience, service, everything was amazing and I cannot recommend enough. Thanks again @vikaskhannagroup for your warmth and hospitality 💕💕💕

How lucky can Bungalow be, when our sisters adorn the restaurant with their love. Crochet is a form of crafting that uses yarn and a hooked needle to create fabric. Using just yarn and a hooked needle, crafters create works that transcend simple loops. It allows for intricate designs and delicate stitches that can be combined to form stunning textures and three-dimensional works. Though it seems old-fashioned, crochet is making a comeback. It shows how something simple can be both traditional and creative. Crochet, like Indian cooking, weaves magic from the simple. Both crafts use basic tools to create stunning and intricate works, one loop or spice at a time. CRICKET AND CUISINE: INDIA DAZZLES I confess. I’m not a cricket fan. But here I was in NYC on ythe very day of the Indian cricket win against Pakistan and like everyone else, I was completely bowled over. For more than one reason. Ofcourse, this is the very first time that NYC has hosted a cricket match and more than 35000 people turned up for it. Sending seismic waves of joy India is reigning supreme in more ways than one Our golden hearted superachiever, chef, author, film maker, philanthropist Vikas Khanna’s three month old restaurant has been topping the charts and breaking records, booking are snapped up within 60 seconds of opening the reservations. Ive been personally witness to this and watched NYC eating out of his hands. Vikas is serving up authentic, Indian food, some with a creative tweak, some traditional and many a home recipe too…tasty and memorable! Generous portions no gimmicks. And it is a winner! Culinary history is being made as much as cricket history. Having been to both, the cricket match and Vikas Khanna’s new restauant, Karambir Kang, the dynamo head of the Taj hotels, North America joins in the celebration. SPORTS STADIUM SNACKS: WINNERS Even the New yorker chef author Michael Mignano is celebrating it all, including the first time ever cricket held in NYC. He’s doing so by creating typical NY sports stadium food. And in honor of cricket coming to NY infusing Indian flavors into it. Michael even breaks into song: the iconic song written in 1908 about American sports snacks... “take me out to the ball game” Michael has authored two definitive books on food and has been a fan of Indian food and spices and introduced them in many of his menus. Today’s unique celebratory dishes created by him are executed by the gifted chef Ravinder Kumar. Both Vikas and Karmbir discuss the “wagah border” moment of the cricket match which “gave me goosebumps” says Vikas as we taste our way through Michael’s unqiue stadium snacks. THE PIERRE continues to be my favorite grand dame in NYC & I have several magical memorable moments here...with Rishi and Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima Sahni, RajBakshi and RohanBalshi many more. Tajness Jai ho! #rashmiudaysingh
