Preorder your Fourth of July pie today! We have a 9” and a cutie 5” for your bbq celebrations. Each pie is filled to the brim (and over!) with berries from @2_peasinapodinc and lemon verbena diplomat. Pickups on 7/4 from 8-3pm only. Join us for summer story time every Monday at 10am in our garden at Bakers Bench Alpine. Bring a blanket for the grass, grab a coffee from @heavywatercoffee and a snack from the bakery! We have volunteers reading picture books out loud, appropriate for babies-young children. 📚🌳👶 All summer from 6/24-8/26 🤸🏿🧃🤸🏻‍♀️ Do you want to read a book to the children? Dm us to volunteer!

Happy first week of official summer, which was marked by our very first power outage 🥲 it’s kind of like LA’s rite of (summer) passage. Our fridge is stocked with all the cold stuff to get you through the heat: 🫐(blue)berries and white grape fruit cups: a grown up fruit cocktail! Mulberries, boysenberries, blackberries dressed in blood orange olive oil sitting on top of a perfectly set jelly of white grape juice and apricot shrub. We love it and it’s a sleeper. Please try it! 🍅 Tomato zucchini croissant sandwich: my faveee dish growing up (and still now) is Chinese tomato egg over rice. Using tomatoes from Beylik, we sweat green onions from Her produce and ginger until it smells like my grandmas kitchen. Then we add tomatoes, cook them and spread this thick sauce over a croissant with some roasted zucchini. This sandwich tastes like summer and IS A STAFF HIT. 🥪 Brocollini romesco sandwich: Tamai family farms broccolini, romesco (roasted red peppers, sun dried tomatoes, sunflower seeds and smoked paprika) and pickled beets on a house made focaccia. It’s got a lil kick to it!

 🎶 It’s been a long time coming 🎶 We are finally open at 1021 Alpine, just 5 minutes from our old kiosk and are excited to see your familiar faces and meet new ones! We’re open from THURSDAY TIL MONDAY from 8-3. Expanded hours from an expanded bakery! Our brick and mortar means more for the community (summer story time for kids, events), for our guests (seating!), for the environment (we have even bigger sustainability goals now). I owe a lot of gratitude to LISC LA’s Asset Building for Communities of Color (ABC) program, supported by Wells Fargo. Their support has been absolutely key in opening my first brick and mortar (a dream of mine since culinary school!). Through the ABC program, I received 0% interest capital that allowed me to purchase necessary equipment, like buying a used Revent One39 (thank you @konbi !) which gives us double the baking capacity of our old oven and a 2 door freezer to hold all our lil croissant babies. The ABC program offered us 0% interest financing and business advising, which is an incredible opportunity for small businesses like mine that otherwise wouldn’t be able to hire a PR, legal and marketing team. I received financial guidance, an extremely helpful marketing team (eye opening experience for me!) and business coaching! My vision for Bakers Bench has always been about more than just great baked goods. It’s about sustainability, community, and innovation. The support from the ABC program has empowered me to realize this vision and serve our community better. As a celebration of our ✨grand opening ✨ @wellsfargo is giving the first 20 people from 6/6-6/10 a free croissant. Thank you @lisc_hq and @wellsfargo !
