We've partnered with @prx to tell the story of early childhood in the U.S. through the perspectives of the pioneers, partners and general workforce of child development and early childhood education. Hosted by Natalie Moore this podcast series will document the story of the past 60 years in early childhood development, care, and education through 5-episodes featuring firsthand accounts from people who played key roles, including Erikson’s co-founder, 93-year-old Barbara Taylor Bowman. The series will inform early childhood educators and caregivers, engage Erikson Institute supporters, and serve as a resource for its students.

Today an Erikson employee was featured on Good Morning America! On Monday, June 15, Erikson announced that Juneteenth -June 19- will be a permanent day of recognition for staff and students as one step toward combating structural racism. The decision was made after employee Kamaria Morris asked leadership to consider honoring the day in perpetuity rather than just this year. Morris posted a tweet on her personal Twitter about her workplace making Juneteenth a permanent paid holiday, and it went viral with over 25,000 retweets and 270,000 “likes.” Hundreds of people asked Kamaria for advice and encouragement to do the same thing at their workplaces. Kamaria created a movement, and the media took notice!
Thank you, Kamaria, for helping Erikson move forward in our efforts to combat racism internally and externally.

Erikson's Online M.S. in Early Childhood Education program, designed for early childhood professionals, allows students to gain a deeper understanding of how children age 8 and younger grow and learn. With six in-demand concentrations to choose from, students can select a track that best suits their needs. We want to send a hearty CONGRATULATIONS to each of our 112 graduates today! Commencement is a highlight of the year for Erikson and although we can't gather today in person as planned, we're excited to welcome you all to the Erikson alumni community. Wherever your next steps take you, you will carry your education forward, into new ways of working with children, families, and communities.
