I’m really into textures these days. I actually just taught a whole class about texture today ☺️ I really liked it, but idk if my students did lol. I teach a course called, the elements of design. ((This weeks focus was texture.) 😏 while researching it, I didn’t realize how important texture was/is. It’s like the heart of uniqueness. Texture makes everything stand out and on its own. I thought line was my favorite element but now, it’s definitely texture. 😎

This is a drawing i did a couple years ago of my life long friend, Deanna. She started her cosmetology career and asked me to draw her a logo. This is what we came up with. Honestly, I am really proud of this piece, because I feel like it captured how I saw her. Her love for nails, and sunflowers, perfect eyebrows and her cute ass smile that she wore braces for years to get. Tomorrow i will be visiting her one last time. I know she wont look like how I remembered her. I'm feeling......really scared. The last few days have been some of the hardest of my life and I genuinely appreciate everyone who had reached out to offer some support. Im grateful to sit in my childhood bedroom right now and go through old photos of us together. I cant wait to see my other two best friends tomorrow that shared this friendship with her. A hug from them wont fix everything, but it will surely remind me that this life was meant to be lived with love, and I have achieved that. Im really depending on love to hold my hand through this, and if anything, i hope the experience of this important loss, can help me understand and be there for someone who too, goes through this or had. Although it is painful, my heart had grown bigger. Feel free to leave a comment telling me about someone you had loved or a message if you dont want it to be public. Lets keep their memory alive. 🤍
