When I first started my career as a makeup artist , I remember grabbing images from the television series “the walking dead “ for my local haunt as inspo and I remember being SUPER inspired by the makeup and the storytelling behind those makeups . Of course , I had JUST started my journey as a Spfx artist so at the time I felt like everything was so out of reach . Working with Chandler Riggs made me realize that nothing is out of reach . Everything is actually reachable if you have time , patience and dedication . I’m beyond thankful for this moment . Mesopotamia mythology- in Sumerian times between 4100-1750 BCE , the Sumerian civilization during that time believed in anthropomorphic polytheism. Which identifies as “many Gods in Human form “. This specific character is inspired by Ereshkigal , “Queen of the earth and Queen of the underworld “ . She was said to have ruled Irkalla along side her husband Nergal . What was then Mesopotamia is now Iraq . The final transformation to “the Spider “ was a rush on its own . I treated this final step as if I were customizing a mask so that I was able to take it off and do some scenes on he’s “back to normal “ stage. We introduced the bald cap and connected the bald cap with the customized prosthetic so we were able to just take everything out at once for timing purposes. Prepping for the Final transformation for “The Spider “ was definitely a challenge on its own . We had no time to order things , so we had to put our thinking caps on and had to construct a piece and utilize tools that was available to us . I utilized my main base (prosthetic) and built different eyes around the head by adding different eye sockets , blending them into the prosthetic , painting it , And treating this prosthetic like a mask so we can later grab shots as “Peter Parker “ . I also added some tinsley transfers “boils” so we can add some raised texture to the prosthetic. As Peter Parker starts to realize that things aren’t going to well for him and he’s realizing that he’s not fully “human “ anymore , we slowly start to distress him and we start push forward with hes transformation. I utilize different shades of blood so we can add different dimensions around the perimeter of hes face . I also utilize Gafquat to build around the side of hes face, and added slime as if the “insect “ inside of him is taking over . Progression shots of the spider bite from “The Spider “ . I wanted Parker to barely notice the bite . As days go by , Parker notices it getting worse and worse and it’s started to get infected. I started the progression with just paint work and by the end we used a Prosthetic to worsen the bite . ASGARD- Before Christianity , there was Norse mythology. The legends and beliefs of the Scandinavian people also known as the Germanic Tribes taking place as old as the 5th Century or older . This character is inspired by the Norse Goddess Freya / Frig Goddess of beauty , fertility, love , war and GOLD. Wife of Odin and was a member of the Vanir tribe but later became an honorary member and one of the highest ranking deities of the Aseir tribe . Inspired by the maps of @nosconfunden.contacto .
