🚧 MUTUALISM IS OUT NOW! 🚧 Atrice - Mutualism [MIRAS002] The EP reflects the culmination of a year-long exploration of compositional techniques and sound design, and acts as a first step towards a debut album. The result is a complete work, divided into eight chapters, that applies previous artistic research on textures, harmonics and rhythms in a rigorous yet playful manner. Whilst continuing to touch upon a broad spectrum of uptempo reference points, ,,Mutualism” offers a first glimpse into the pairs underlying pliancy next to the ever-present intricate complexities in their output. 🔊🔊🔊

MIRAS001

The debut release on Miras stems from co-honchos and long-time residents Atrice. Their musical work is heavily inspired by the uncanny interplay between the tangibility of digital stimulus satiation and authentic real-life encounters in an increasingly disconnected world. Atrice’s compositions have a strong focus on detail, which originates from their academic formation as sound designers. However, the key to the Zurich-based Duo’s production is their playful approach to established genres resulting in emotive soundscapes and energetic amalgamations. On the three tracks this approach is perfectly mirrored through a hybrid of sultry House, hard-hitting Breaks and neck-bending Gabber. The EP kicks of with the title track "J.A.-Ris", a contagious homage to early Jungle with tight basses and witty Juke inserts. The deep pads enter like a windy thunderstorm on a humid summer day, momentarily taking the light from the sky. It’s followed by the second composition "Give Me", which moves between Breakbeat and House with a futuristic sound design. It penetrates through the darkened clouds and lets the first sunrays shine on the asphalt. A slight smell of Petrichor underlines the dystopian moment. Lastly "Demorado" enters with many familiar facets, which however are being completely turned on their head over the course of the piece, reminiscent of a spellbinding whirlwind. It is characterized by Gabber, IDM and Drum'n'Bass influences with cinematic gestures and complex drum structures. That's all, hasta abajo !

Darwin has certainly been on our radar for quite some time. She plays self-confidently an amalgam of Dubstep, Jungle and Garage. Beside of touring, she runs the excellent label SPE:C and is responsible for the REEF party series in Berlin's Griessmuehle.
We are very happy to welcome her this Friday in the Club Zukunft.

Also, we invited a young collective and music label from Fribourg to host the Bar3000 all night long: Strecke. After numerous innovative releases, events and hosting at renowned events such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, they are now playing together for the first time in Zurich. Durch modifizierte Röhrefernseh entstaht für de Betrachter eh direkt zugänglichi Visualisierig vo sinere algorithmische und generative Komposition. —————————————————————English: In addition to his activity as part of Miras, Till is a graduate of the Bern University of the Arts and an active freelance artist. With his A/V installation "MTTV1.0" he has dealt intensively with the difference between visual and auditory perception. Modified tube televisions provide the viewer with a directly accessible visualization of his algorithmic and generative composition.
