Since opening in 2011, the Moog Store has served as a public portal to the Moog factory, inviting passionate synthesists to come inside and experience the sonic capabilities of Moog first-hand, as well as have access to new electronic instruments and devices in person. Containing 60 years of revolutionary synthesizer technology, the Moog Store has been a destination for those who wish to create, explore, and be inspired.
As we prepare for the next chapter of Moog Music, the Moog Store will be closing its doors. Our factory will remain open, and our talented engineers will still be in there, hand-crafting the instruments that define us. Our shift away from brick-and-mortar sales allows us greater bandwidth to focus on researching and developing the next generation of synthesizers and support more classic Moog releases.
To those who have visited the store to explore our instruments, participate in our workshops and factory tours, and engage with our engineers and designers, we have the utmost gratitude. In collaboration with Moog Music, the Will Gregory Moog Ensemble presents “Archimedes’ Screw,” a live performance by 11 musicians, each of the 10 keyboardists using a Model D to layer the composition. The video starts with a mix of vintage and modern Minimoogs on the chancel of The Mount Without, a historic chapel in Bristol, UK, where the acoustics add a warm depth to the sound.

“The Model D is probably the most famous synth of all time. It represents a first in design and so many of its features can still be found in every synth that ever followed….The mod and pitch wheel, the filter, the envelope, the LFO…more or less everything about it set a standard for the next 50 years and everyone still loves them. The re-issue is also brilliant in that it sounds pretty much identical to the 70s model D, but it doesn’t go out of tune, it has Midi and a load of new features. If you are going to have one mono synth, this is the one to have, and mine would be first out the door in a fire” says Will Gregory.
