FRONT RUNNER NYC PRIDE RUN 2024! 🌈 Celebrating Pride through running is a dream come true for me. Running is the first place I ever felt I could be 100% myself, and it really helped build my confidence as a young queer person. To get to run with so many incredible LGBTQ+ people and allies gives me so much hope for the future. We have a pretty amazing community. Check out @frontrunnersny club on Strava 👏

Vive le Tour! The most iconic race on the cycling calendar departs tomorrow from Florence, kicking off 21 stages over the mountains, fields and cobblestones of Italy and France. With the help of our new Flyover feature, we’ll be giving you a bird’s-eye view of key segments throughout the month. Things get spicy for the peloton right away, with stage 1 featuring this twisting, steep ascent up the Côte de San Marino. The 👑KOM on this 7.12 km, 332m segment is currently held by Colombian rider @diegopescador.21 , who snagged it in a different race earlier this year. Can his crown withstand an assault by the Tour de France peloton? Tune in to find out, and head to the link in our bio for even more insights on the stage, key segments and glimpse at pro rider uploads from the first day.

Kilimanjaro Part 3 If you are reading this and you are Black: you consider this your invitation to the mountain. Thanks to @hypoxico , my Sp02 never dropped below 92 - even when we reached base camp at 15,500 feet. After resting for a few hours, we woke up at 3am to begin our summit. Things were feeling really good until I started to approach Gilman’s Point. All of a sudden, I felt pressure growing in my head and nausea. Thankfully I had a few essentials with me that helped: salt tabs, ginger candies, water, and the secret weapon - glucose powder from our guides. IYKYK. I adopted the mantra “I can, I will” repeating it with every step I took. There was no doubt in my mind that I would summit. It was just a matter of how long and how painful it would be. With only 200 meters or so to go, I found myself exhausted and crying. I didn’t want to quit, I just wanted it to be over. I was so nauseous and it felt like I couldn’t make even a single step. I dug deeper than I ever imagined to keep moving forward. I climbed the last hill and then suddenly Uhuru Peak was straight ahead!  Sitting in front of the sign was a testament of not my physical strength but my mental strength. To keep going even when I wanted to quit. It was evidence of the power of self talk. I hope to never forget that how I speak to myself matters. I was only able to stop for 5 or so minutes before my body told me it was time to go.  The pressure in my head was growing and I was so weak from having thrown up but completely without appetite. With help from my guide and porter, I was able to get safely down to about 17,000 feet where they let me go, to finish the final steps of the descent alone. I didn’t understand when people told me that Kili was the hardest thing they’d ever done. But the mile or so that separates you from the summit to Uhuru Peak will be the most difficult of your life. This would not have been possible without: - The love and patience of Amir and Kouri - The support of Strava to get here - My fellow Black ladies on the hike!!!! In the words of @snoopdogg : Last but not least, I wanna thank me for doing all this hard work! #AMDClimbsKili #Kilimanjaro
