J’ai rencontré Jimmie Durham deux fois dans ma vie. C’est peu pourtant j’ai l’impression qu’il m’a toujours accompagné. Par ses œuvres, par ses combats, par l’influence qu’il a eu sur la galerie et sur mon père. Il faisait partie des gens qui tente de rendre le monde meilleur. Au début du confinement, il a été le premier artiste à répondre a notre projet des Confinement Notes avec un poème. Il n’était pas obligé, lui le Lion d’or de la Biennale de Venise.
J’ai eu une grande chance d’avoir pu le rencontrer, ne serait-ce que deux fois.

I have met Jimmie Durham only twice in my life. It's not much, but I feel like he's always been with me. Through his work, through his fights, through the influence he had on the gallery and on my father. He was one of the people who tried to make the world a better place. At the beginning of the confinement, he was the first artist to respond to our Confinement Notes project with a poem. Him the golden Lion of the Venice Biennale, he didn't have to.
I’m very lucky to have met him, even if it was only twice.
