Have you ever thought about using dried fruits as decorations? 🍊 It’s simple, sustainable, and the process will have your house smelling ✨amazing✨. You can use oranges, lemons, pineapple slices, apple slices, pears, or any other fruit of your choice! 🍇🥂 I’m going to be sharing more sustainable tips for the holidays, as I learn with you! 🌱 For now enjoy this simple & easy recipe on how to make dried fruit decorations. ✨ MATERIALS * Oranges or lemons * Knife * Chopping Board * Oven * Baking Tray * Parchment or Greaseproof paper * Optional Cloves for decoration and scent EQUIPMENT * Oven * Chopping Board * Knife INSTRUCTIONS * Chop the orange into slices about 1/2cm thick. * Place on a lined baking tray. * Into an oven at 100C. * After 2 hours turn the orange slices. * Leave for a further 2 hours in the oven. * Check and turn. * If they are still very flexible you may need to return them for another hour or two this will vary with your oven and the thickness of the orange slices. * Remove and let cool before using for decorations. Let’s get crafty this holiday season!🎄

Time for a little self introduction. Hola, my name is Natasha Amalie creator of Eco Events by Amalie 🕊 I am 20 years old currently living in Central Texas. I grew up a military child, so I have had the privilege and opportunity to travel to many countries overseas growing up. My family is from Puerto Rico, but I was born in Würzburg, Germany. I lived in Europe for about 10 years, then moved to Seoul, South Korea. I have learned many languages, but I’m currently fluent in Spanish and English and conversationally in German (it’s been a while). 😂 I fell in love with traveling and the cultures I have experienced in my life and started to appreciate the design and historical architectures of these different countries. I have always loved the outdoors and had a love for nature and animals (as a child I once wanted to be a vet), so I knew in my heart that any career that I chose, it had to align with my passions and love for the environment. I moved to Texas in 2016 where I spent my senior year and started college. I was part of a student nonprofit organization as Director of Human Resources, where I learned my love for project management, environmentalism, and public relations. In 2019, I decided to incorporate my passions into my own business and so Eco Events by Amalie was born 🌱 I have done a few small events and I went back home to Puerto Rico to get some inspiration and experience in event planning with @Galas Events. Unfortunately, I didn’t get much time before the pandemic started, but I did not waste any time. I started gathering information and reaching out to #sustainable businesses with similar goals to have conversations about what it’s like to be a sustainable business in these times and what they are doing as event planners in the industry. It was a success✨ (Watch my IGTV’s for two full interviews) I attended a few seminars and summits like @thegood_green to network and connect with likeminded #entrepreneurs on how to move forward and shift into a new space. After learning and gathering my knowledge, I decided to create and Ebook. . . (continued in the comments) 📸 @jtiagovisuals

I care deeply about the planet and creating a business that gives back to nature. That’s why I’m so excited to announce that I’ve partnered with @onetreeplanted 🕊 . . One Tree Planted is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to global reforestation. Their mission is to reforest the planet, one tree at a time. 🌿 . . Trees clean our air and water, create habitats for biodiversity, contribute to our health and wellbeing, and create jobs for #socialimpact . I’m honored to have reforestation through One Tree Planted as an integral part of my business model. . . Every $1 donated helps plant 1 tree. It's that simple. They also raise awareness about the importance of trees, offer businesses a simple #sustainability solution, and motivate younger generations to do something positive for the environment. 🌍 . . So I have decided that every Eco Mindset Guidebook sold within this next week we will plant 1 tree, what do you think? ✨ To purchase my Eco Mindset Guidebook click the link in my bio, let’s plant a tree together 🕊

This African flower arrangement by Kapwani Kiwanga was a part of an exhibition at @contemporaryatx museum “Flowers for Africa”. 💐 . . This flower arrangement commemorates defining moments in the independence of African countries. The arrangement was let to wilt at the course of the exhibition display; its metaphor for fallibility of memory around historical events and for the passage of time. . . Seeing this arrangement in person was absolutely beautiful and its history is even more interesting. I hope to soon be able to visit another art museum, @contemporaryatx was such a great experience. 🤍 . . Flowers have so much history and meaning to them, what is your favorite flower and why? .
