IT’S TIME TO FIND MAMMA ELSA A HOME! Los Angeles, CA (open for out of state adoptions) This is an all hands on deck request for each and every one of our followers. Mamma Elsa, a resilient German Shepherd who six months ago, was abandoned outside a shelter while she was in labor is in need of your assistance! Her previous owners tied her to a pole in the middle of the night, left her frightened, alone, and desperate. Elsa was found by shelter staff and brought inside. She managed to give birth to 9 puppies, 2 passing away after birth. Because the shelter was so severely overcrowded, Elsa was placed in the cat room, and given just 72 hours to vacate the shelter or her and all her puppies would be euthanized. Thankfully, we were able to rescue her and her babies just in time. Since then, all of her gorgeous puppies have been adopted, but Elsa has had no interest and is patiently waiting for a second chance at life. Elsa is a gentle soul, eager to please her humans. She has completed a rigorous board and train program, learning basic commands and socializing with other dogs and humans. Her eyes reflect both resilience and longing—a desire for a loving home where she can heal and thrive. Yet, despite our best efforts, Elsa remains overlooked due to the countless other animals that are also waiting for a home. She deserves better. What she needs: • Calm home with a leader who is familiar with the breed and can provide structure for Elsa • Home with no other animals or one with submissive pups • A fenced in yard and someone who can provide both the mental and physical stimulation pups need * Elsa was shy/fearful , NOT aggressive Our Plea: We implore you to shine a spotlight on Elsa’s story by featuring her on your social media platforms, Nextdoor app, etc You can help us find her a forever home! Yay for FROGS! 💫🐸 🌎 I had a wonderful time last night at the @aquariumpacific for the launch of their newest Frog Exhibit! It is so incredible to see how the Mountain Yellow Legged frog which only had 200 of it’s species left in the wild and you guys have raised and released 400 more of them! More than doubling their population!!! It is such an honor to know Peter Kareiva and to be on his team and watching him and his incredible staff repopulate species and help animals! Imagine if every aquarium and zoo could use its resources to help repopulate species and give back to the wild! The only thing constant in life is change and I gotta say I’m really enjoying this thing called “rain” all the time in California 😅🌧️ 🔹 I recently learned that we have an atmospheric river above California and Hawaii that is 25x the size of the Mississippi River. While California has always been the state with the most diverse weather patterns in the county, now we are looking in the future to be having more extremes, on both ends - rain or drought. Since Mamma Elsa has been at K9 Companions, she has learned fundamental commands, basic obedience, dog and human socialization, while also addressing any negative behaviors with positive reinforcement! She is thriving and loves learning, and performing her commands! We are confident Mamma Elsa is ready for her forever home and excited to offer whoever adopts Elsa, one in-home follow-up lesson and 3 on-site follow-up lessons good for one year to ensure all of Elsa’s positive work will be continued into her new environment and home. Additional in-home lessons can be arranged as well. We want to set Elsa up for success! A big thank you to everyone who shared her post so far! We know her special someone is out there! We’re reaching out to our community for help in finding Elsa the perfect home!! Sweet Mamma Elsa, a pup who has endured so much in her short life, is now in search of her forever home. Although Elsa has been thriving since we rescued her from the shelter, we can tell she has not always been treated well, or socialized properly. She can be nervous around new people, and is also very head shy. Because of this, we decided to place Elsa in board and train program where she has been for the last 2 1/2 weeks. She has proven to be extremely smart and resileint , and has become trusting of the large amount of staff at the training facility! She has also become accustomed to dogs and is no longer reactive to them or fearful when they approach her. We are so sad that Elsa’s life hasn’t been easy and that she has been let down by humans but together, we can rewrite her story and give her the love and care she deserves. Let’s show her that not all humans disappoint – let’s be the ones to restore her faith in humanity! Join us in our mission to give this deserving pup the second chance she deserves!
