Nothing ever really goes as planned in the restoration world, well maybe I should correct myself RARELY does it go as planned! I have been wrapping up some things on the ‘67 FJ45LV with some trim pieces made by @tin_mans_garage absolute perfect replicas of original ones, thank you again! The two toned hood latches with of course original hardware. Also trying to get this engine fired off for the first time since full rebuild years ago. But to my surprise in priming the engine full of oil I could not get oil up to the rockers. Welllll the engine builder did not install the copper line and fittings that go in the middle of the rocker shafts to supply all the moving parts with oil. So after hours of phone calls and research @specteroffroad were the ones to come through with the parts needed. The OEM corner trim on our Cool Ranch project was made from steel. They didn’t fit and they overlapped the other stainless trim, in general they looked like hot garbage… Our objective was to remove as many seams from the bed trim and install the trim with zero exposed fasteners. To do this we needed to fabricate the corners from the same thickness 304 stainless steel trim as the rest of the original trim. This is the process we used to create those pieces. If anyone needs help with duplicating some rare or unique stainless steel trim please let us know and maybe we could help with the finishing touches on your special project.
