Have you already experienced a heatwave this year?
Heatwaves debilitate children’s health and well-being and by 2050, every child on our planet – over 2 billion – will be exposed to high heatwave frequency.

They need a ceasefire NOW.
One child is displaced EVERY MINUTE in Haiti because of ongoing armed violence.
Over 300,000 of them need urgent humanitarian assistance.
Children who are displaced are at increased risk of exploitation and abuse. Their access to essential services like safe spaces, healthcare and clean water and sanitation is also disrupted.
Additionally, they have to face a cyclone season that may further damage healthcare and increase their exposure to water-borne diseases.
The children of Haiti need peace and continued support from the international community.
Climate change is changing children.
From rising temperatures affecting school performance to droughts leading to undernutrition, floods leading to injuries and air pollution increasing adverse birth outcomes, the climate crisis is taking a toll on children’s health.
The time for urgent #ClimateAction is NOW.

This is the power of good nutrition and treatment.
When Mouna, 2, was admitted to a UNICEF-supported hospital in Gode, Ethiopia in 2022, she was extremely ill with severe malnutrition.
Like many families, her parents had been struggling for survival as severe drought swept across the region.
While Mouna received treatment at the hospital, her family also received guidance on giving her a balanced diet.
Two years later, as you can see, her health has been transformed.
”My daughter is now very active! She is playing and laughing a lot,” says her mother, Anzel.
Her recovery was moving for our photographer @raphael_pouget too. "When we first met in 2022, we had instant bond and she was smiling and waving at me despite the extreme heat and her poor condition," he says.
"I was so happy to see her again - laughing and playing with other kids as every children her age should."
