Denver, Colorado 80202
Night Light Denver’s February program is curated by Valerie Amend as an ode to health and wellness—a theme often reflected on at the advent of the new year. Artists Wednesday Kim, Sara Ludy, Maya Man, LaJuné McMillian, and Surabhi Saraf survey attitudes of healing through digital, astral, and phenomenological means. Exhibited works will be on display as an outdoor projection, looping every 10 minutes from sunset–midnight on the Daniels & Fisher Tower in downtown Denver at 1601 Arapahoe Street.
”The Mental Athlete“ is a mental care project by Kim tailored for those at home or the office. Building on past success, like ”Aesthetic of Being Disappeared,“ where a therapist offered guidance, this project features a virtual health trainer character promoting mental well-being. Based on personal and surveyed experiences, ”The Mental Athlete“ explores the link between mental health, cleanliness, and exercise‘s brain-boosting effects. The work is presented through an enlightening video.

My dear daughter,
Mommy grew up listening to this OG K-pop music during mommy’s stormy days back in the days. I can share it with you, and it fills me with joy.

What are we capable of becoming?
Technology has made us procedural beings. Identity as we knew it, handed down by our family and our geographical communities (schools, sports club, and other gathering spaces), is now only an infinitesimal part of who we really are. Through the digital medium, we discover, explore, and learn about new realities happening thousands of kilometres away that, nonetheless, are making us feel at home. These spaces allow us to be who we really are, who we really believe to be, and give us a reason to continue our journey in a world that often feels on the brink of collapse.

Litote is a bridge-builder between digital communities and a springboard to national and international excellence. At the heart of our mission lies the desire to reconcile the worlds of contemporary digital art and video games, both independent and triple A. We firmly believe that this convergence allows for the implementation of innovative ideas on a theoretical, methodological, and creative level. By bringing together these different perspectives, we aim to create a transdisciplinary approach that explores the contemporary challenges we face.
The 2023 Vagner Mendonça-Whitehead Microgrant Fund is proud to present its chosen artists, Wednesday Kim @wednesdaykimm Asma Kazmi @asmakazmi and Chanee Choi @chanee.choi 🤍These three artists represent a wave of artists bringing a new perspective to new media art, embracing what artist/curator Marisa Olson calls post-internet art, that is, work that is no longer fascinated by the novelty of the internet and technology itself but rather exists surrounded by it. Abandoning the trappings of Techno-Fetishism and instead embracing a wider human experience, from mental health to the clash of capitalism and religion to the effects of hate crimes on a community, these works immerse us into the fears and hopes of its creators.
By supporting this diversity of voices, the New Media Caucus hopes to expand the field and make it a richer, more diverse space, where voices not often heard in the wider context can thrive.

🧠MENTAL: Colours of Wellbeing
How are you? You know that it’s okay to feel what you are feeling, right?
Your feelings are unique and personal.
MENTAL: Colours of Wellbeing is not an exhibition about mental illness, treatments or cures. It is a welcoming place where you can confront societal bias and stereotypes around mental health. MENTAL invites you to embark on an intimate and personal journey that explores the many different ways of being, surviving and making connections, that have become of increasing importance to us all.
This exhibition features 24 interactive exhibits, art projects and large-scale installations by international artists, makers, scientists and designers that reflect a range of perspectives on mental health and ways of being. In addition, there are seven artworks by Singaporean and Southeast Asian artists that explore mental health from a uniquely Southeast Asian perspective.
The works featured in this exhibition take on serious topics in an accessible way and have been grouped into four broad themes - Connection, Exploration, Expression and Reflection.
MENTAL celebrates differences and complexities and represents the idea that every mental health journey is unique. We encourage you to reflect upon, question and empathise with what it means to be human in the second decade of the 21st century.
Special thanks to @tillyboleyn
MENTAL: Colours of Wellbeing is co-curated by ArtScience Museum and Science Gallery Melbourne and is the last exhibition in ArtScience Museum's Season of Mental Wellbeing - a year-long programme of exhibitions and events that are intended to raise awareness and initiate conversations on the importance of mental health and wellbeing.

Posted @withrepost • @pylon_hub_lab PYLON is excited to announce the upcoming online presentation of Wednesday Kim's new mental care project 'The Mental Athlete' starting on November 24, 2022.
A clean home and healthy body are the evidence of a state of mind.
Are you tired? Are you depressed? Do you stay home and work on a computer for a long day?
'The Mental Athlete' is Wednesday's new mental care project for everyone stuck at their home or office or home office. It is another series of work that deals with mental health. In her past work, 'Aesthetic of being Disappeared.', a therapist appeared to help out, and this time, a health trainer will help you get your mind healthier. 'The Mental Athlete' is based on a mixture of her personal experiences and other people’s experiences via an online survey. It illustrates the relationship between mental health and cleaning and how exercise boosts the brain and improves mental health.
Get ready with Wednesday. Let's work out together.
