Yamaha Drums proudly welcomes new artist Jay Kalo to our roster of artists.
Jose Carlos Sánchez, aka Jay Kalo, was born in Havana (Cuba) on September 15, 1997. He began his musical career at 10 and studied percussion at the Cuban National Art School (ENA). At only 17 years old, his first trip was to New York to perform with the “Big Band Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra”, where he met and played with Wynton Marsalis.
Since then, Jay’s career has progressed musically. His characteristic style, which pairs musicality with groove, precise timing, and articulate phrasing on the drum kit, makes him one of the exciting new drummers on the international drum scene.
