I’ve relocated part time back to a quiet rural spot in Canada and I see horses on my runs; sometimes I just stop in total awe before these big open fields and feel so calm at these simple wonders.

What I love about being an artist is creating something from the inspirations and books and whatever random ideas and infleunces I’m circling at a particular time. This is a drawing of my pal Matt: he is a rock climber and painter and I was reading this book called Mount Analogue by René Daumal about this literal journey this team plans to climb a metaphysical mountain. I had been thinking about this trope in literature and myth where artists/visionaries come down from a spiritual quest up the mountain. Moses, Zarathustra, Holy Mountain, the ivory tower, etc. the funny thing is the more I look for this story it keeps showing up in strange places. Anyhow Mount Analogue ends mid-sentence when Daumal died at 36 of tuberculosis and as a reader it’s like this half inhale as the scene cuts - and that partiality and lack of finality really stuck with me. I dunno but this is like a blueprint for some ideas I’m playing with…
