How We Lit This Interview Outdoors! 🖼️ It’s always a struggle to make harsh daylight look good, so we brought out Aputure’s new Electro Storm XT26 with the Motorized F14 fresnel to compete with the power of the sun! ☀️ This allowed us to bring up our subject’s exposure with out blowing out the background. When building a rig like the one behind me, there are three main steps: scouting, designing, and building. 1. Scouting: We scouted at Lux Lighting to understand the space and identify the objects we needed to rig. This included checking out the Infinimat 20x20 and determining the pick points for it. This step helped us figure out how to construct the frame around it. 2. Designing: After the scouting phase, I used 3D software to piece together some @buildmodulusx . This allowed me to experiment with different configurations and ensure everything fit together properly. This step is crucial because it ensures all bolt holes line up and that we have the correct pipe lengths before the actual build, saving time and reducing potential issues on the day of the build. 3. Building: We decided to create a 16x16 swatter. The frame was built using six-inch Modulus X truss for the 16x16 structure, which connected to nine-inch Modulus X truss on top of the forks. Additionally, a six-inch tower provided support for the kicker pipes. This approach allowed us to efficiently build the 16x16 Modulus X frame from the 20x20 structure. By following these steps, we were able to come in with a solid plan and execute the build smoothly.
