Just over a week ago @kamitan_arts hosted its 1st Poetry Circle as part of Kamitan Arts' partnership with @kcawlondon on the Poetry Corner. This first event was in collaboration with the lovely @dianecfrost at Empress Salon! 👑
The "Summer Solstice Poetry Performance" was a lovely early summer evening where many of us inter-generational Art and Poetry enthusiasts, professionals and community artists gathered in Diane's intimate and welcoming art studio space to share multi-lingual words, thoughts, art, culture, poetry, wine and snacks! 🎤🥰🎵🥂
Kindly excuse the phone pictures, this was a non-funded event this year. We envisage gaining interest and pledges from sponsors in the near future to further our vision of a more valued and equitable art and culture sector within RBKC, for the sustainability of the 'Poetry Corner' and our 'Poetry Circles' and its expansion within Kensington and Chelsea Art Week (KCAW) in collaboration with our long-standing local grassroots organisation Kamitan Arts!
Thanks to all that came to support and make this vision possible with Love 💜 and to the kind donations made 🤗
Thanks to Diane for the drinks and hospitality!
West Ken Hub for the speakers!
And all the poets that came together to share their work!
Co-host and Featured artist:
Princess Emmanuelle @EmpresS1Egypt
Guest Poet: Michelle Fine
Host of Empress Salon: Diane C. Frost

Title: Koi of Hope
“A woman, form resolute, emerges from a sea of crashing waves rendered in bold black and white. A luminous golden koi fish gracefully winds around her arm, symbolizing the courage and perseverance it takes to overcome challenges. The stark contrast between the woman and the waves signifies the struggle, while the gold of the koi hints at a brighter, enlightened future. This artwork celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the power of hope in the face of adversity”
