In 'Show Your Work', Austin Kleon talks about finding your "Scenius", an idea taken from Brian Eno; creative genius comes from not just an individual, but an entire scene of people. A collective, if you will.
Jim Rohn talks about how we are the average of our closest five people, and many folk who have found success in an area refer to how they surrounded themselves with good people with a similar mindset.
4 years ago, I didn't feel like I had many fellow musicians or creatives whom I was surrounded by. I vowed that through ARP, I would change this.
Uploading a weekly video to YouTube for the past 3 years has connected me with some rad musicians and I now find myself with super solid network that seems to continue to grow. It's wild in someways as this is exactly what Austin Kleon promises will happen when you "show your work"... I guess following valuable advice does really work out!
Grateful to all the like-minded folk in this network and community! You all continue to motivate me and affirm the path I find myself on! 😊🤙🙌😃

Andres' story is super inspiring and I'm stoked how the edit turned out for this one. We discussed how he got into music, how he moved to England with a dream and then through the twists and turns of life, how he made that dream a reality! 🤙
This is actually the first video where I've 'officially' featured a fellow musician and I had so much fun sharing songs and stories that I would like to make it a somewhat regular occurrence! 😊

"Should Musicians Go on TV Talent Shows?!" - This week's video is UP on the YT channel 🙌 😃 👀
The X-factor, Britains Got Talent, The Voice... Whilst out busking, it's often well-meaning folk come up and say "You should go on the The Voice, you might win and be famous!".
I'd say it happens every single time I head out. Typically I smile, tell them thank you and continue on with my set. However, a few months back I got a message from a dude who said he loved the videos and was looking to head out busking for the first time in a while. It just so happened that he'd been on The Voice, like, on the TV and everything! The idea came a few days later... we should go for a busk and talk about what it's like to actually go on one of these TV Talent Contests; how to actually get on the show, what goes on behind the scenes, how much of it is real/staged, and what do you really get out of going on it?
@andrescruzmusic is complete legend and super nice dude! So stoked on the day we had in Kingston. Sharing stories, songs and good times - letting the magic of music do it's thing! Huge shout out to him for doing this, go and check out his journey as a Pro singer!
This is officially the first ever 'busking collab' I've done on a video and honestly, it's definitely not going to be the last!

Saturday 13th July - Brighton/Hove - Lion & Lobster - Summer Street Party - I'm on at 2pm!
Busking lots in between so keep an eye on my IG story for where I am. Also, never be shy to message me... The nature of busking usually means I don't know where I'll be until the evening before (or sometimes even the morning of...)!
