Exploring the wonderful town of TOURNUS with @tournustourisme and @valleedelagastronomie 🙏🏼🇫🇷🍇
✓ The charming town of Tournus is located on the Saone River, in southern Burgundy. With a history dating back to the Romans, we loved exploring the vibrant town centre, with its colourful houses, narrow alleys, cute bakeries, wonderful cheese & chocolate shops, ceramics and artist studios, plus many cafes and restaurants. 🍴
✓ The 10th century benedictine Abbey of Saint-Philibert de Tournus is a must visit! We also recommend a visit to Hôtel-Dieu - a hospital (now museum) built in the 17th century with a lovely garden. 🌹
Other highlights included…
✓ Lunch @lerelaisdozenay - where the chef champions local producers including ceramics artists, cheese makers and regional wine makers. 🧀
✓ Dinner Cloître restaurant @hotel_spa_les7fontaines by chef @stephane_gregoire.69 - where traditional Burgundy dishes have been re-invented with a modern twist. The wine pairings here were really wonderful. 🍷
✓ Overnight stay and lovely breakfast @hotel_spa_les7fontaines - loved our massive suite, overlooking the sunny courtyard and huge bathrooms with roll top bathtubs. Also just a stone's throw away from the local village shops and cafes too. 🥖
✓ Wine tasting @lesvigneronsdemancey - an immersive and interactive experience, learning all about the soil, climate, scents and smells of the local wines and vineyards. It was great meeting with the local winemakers too. 🍇🍾🍷
✓ Lunch at 1 Michelin starred Les Terrasses restaurant by chef Jean-Michel Carrette @auxterrasses_jm_carrette - An absolutely delicious lunch here! The market menu changes daily, using seasonal ingredients from local farmers and followed by desserts in the beautiful garden terrace - full of herbs and flowers. 🏆

End of last year @laugozney and I had opportunity to go and hit Tokyo for a bit of a culinary adventure. I’d never been and it was always on our hit list. We had the pleasure of adventuring with @clerkenwellboyec1 and the week was hosted by @wagyumafia which was a truly fucking mind blowing experience. Hisato pulled out all the stops, from private sushi experience that we got to share with @benhundreds and @bobbyhundreds on our first night as they happened to be in town at the same time, to a 25 course wagyu experience in Hisato’s hidden restaurant, all the markets, all the sites, all the fucking sushi and wagyu a man could dream of. Nothing but love for @wagyumafia for taking such good care of us, until next time brother!
