Glimpse back at SOLAR LOGOS I, Tibilisi, Georgia.
As humans our ancient relationship with the sun lends itself to deification.
Sun-worship has been with us since pagan antiquity, among the Persians, Indians, Greeks, Mayans
and other ancient cultures.
We hold a deep rooted, innate understanding that the beams and brilliance,
our central, inner spiritual Sun, are mirrored by our grand celestial Star, the Sun.
This “mirror of fire,” is our source of existence, light and life.
The perceived divinity of the Sun echoes our potential.
For the sun gives forth from itself without being diminished,
thus establishing itself as the most perfect symbol of self actualization
Thanks to @tbilisimuralfest for hosting me with such grace and care x

‘UNA SALUS VICTIS NULLAM SPERARE SALUTEM’
I love how a city breathes and transforms over time and the etched memories of living compile, moments upon moments upon moments.
To mark the Solstice today we’re giving away one of the last editions of the ‘Goddess of the Rising Sun’ woodblock prints.
The winner randomly chosen is : @Carolinkay_ I was so touched reading through all you’re prayers and it reminded me of the hope that is very much alive in the world.
State your prayer.
If you are in the northern hemisphere experiencing summer solstice, a prayer for something outside of you.
If you are in the Southern Hemisphere experiencing winter solstice, a prayer for something within you.
My prayer is for peaceful manifestation in thought and action in the world and within my own being.
Now is the time ripe for intention.
As known by the ancients.
Relegare - to tie back to . Reconnect with.
The Latin etymology of religion.
I feel that pull. Chord. Thread. To source. To self. To earth. To sky.
It is as if we blast into earthly existence blinded, forgetting what’s behind the veil and slowly we begin to remember. to see . Feel. In dreams. Glimpses. We understand a knowing that we cannot verbalise. A shadow moving in the corner of our vision.
A steady glow at the core of our being.
Cyanotype
In our life with its great twists and turns, this honey, Inka Kendzia @inkakendzia has stuck sweetly by my side. So many late nights working and preparing for projection mappings, video installations, museum shows and theatrical performances.
Creating magik out of thin air because we are connected to source. This woman who knows horses, the salt crystals and wild plains of the Namibian desert. Who is the keeper of my sacred rocks for my return home and who care fully nurses me when I am sick.
Who somehow has reminded me time and time again not to forget to bring light to a darkened room even when you yourself feel the shadows looming.
In meditation and in mochi x Salutations priestess.

‘WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS’
Reminding us of the community we’ve been a part of, indeed there have been some good memories shared with the artists in the list below ;)
If you’re in LA head over to the opening.
Also, I really love this drawing I did of my muse and sweetheart @meghan__judge I don’t often say that about my work, but this one, there’s something in it that pulls me and exists beyond what I can express.
Love to all. The space inside of us. The space between us. That connects and separates.

Deconstructed flags of the world, pencil crayon and ink.
This large scale artwork was made by meticulously hand drawing and deconstructing each flag of the world.
By doing so creating alliances and fractures away from continental, geographical or economic ideologies.
These patriotic symbols representing nationalistic tendencies merge together
as we focus instead on the glory of color and metaphor within the deep rooted imagery.
We have over centuries of wars and colonial terror, trade embargoes and sanctions,
hostile takeovers and covert coups, created a world that feels separation. @everard_read_cape_town_
Borders, passports and visas are an unquestionable reality.
This isolation however is a facade, for beneath the structured reality that we subscribe to are natural disasters, integral trade dependencies, the internet, group consciousness, viruses, earthquakes, planetary forces, the earth’s frequency, our reliance on the natural balance of ecosystems, our susceptibility to solar flares.
The Covid-19 crisis is an example of this solidarity that we are a species cannot escape from.
We are bound together, to each other, and to the planet.
This is a dire lesson we must learn. To see the world as a whole. Entangled.
