Exhibition alert! Beure An exhibition of paintings by @rachel_painting and @emma_carter_art which opened last night at the Courthouse Gallery, Oughterard. What a show! Rachel’s and Emma’s styles are so different, yet when seen together, blend so beautifully! The paintings flow from one to the other and boy do they make you smile! So chuffed to be there with my college buddy Rachel. She’s just the best. 🥰 Watch out world - Rachel Coyne and Emma Carter are names you will hear into the future. A wonderful, special day yesterday at the conferring of the Freedom of Galway City on Keith @keithfinnegan_galway at the Hardiman Hotel. Surrounded by family, friends, City Councillors, Minister @hildegardenaughton MEP @mariawalsheu , Senators Sean Kyne, Pauline O’Reilly, Ronan Mullen and so many more. Mayor @eddiehoare read a letter of congratulations from our President Michael D. Higgins. We were wined and dined at the @thehardimangalway and we continued the celebrations afterwards. Thank you to Mayor @eddiehoare for bestowing this honour on Keith and to @aengusmcphoto for capturing it all. So we’ve a Freeman in the family! Sheep en route to Eyre Square this afternoon! Bealtaine Fire Festival at the Hill of Uisneach, the sacred centre of Ireland. Bealtaine is one of the oldest recorded Irish festivals, celebrating the beginning of Summer, and what a day we had for it! The Bealtaine fire is lit on the site where the High Kings of Ireland held their ceremonies. Music, food, yoga, meditations, talks, tours and a very special, powerful energy in this truly magical place. Oh! And Unicorns!The well is filled! Great to catch up too! ‘Kirwans Lane’ - Willie Andrew Looking through Dad’s amazing portfolio of artworks. He was a joiner/draughtsman by trade, so his attention to detail was spot on. He painted and drew all his life, starting out in oils and moving on to create mainly pen and ink drawings, and paintings in watercolours. Galway City scenes, Connemara landscapes - he did them all! I love the simplicity of this one. Just pen, nothing else!
